I have a set of 235/60/r15 S rated Radial T/A's on my stock 15x7 concave hi tech turbo's. They look really good with the white lettering and they ride pretty good but I don't think they grip very well. My parents have an old Ford Taurus with generic brand tires that I borrow sometimes when the T/A's down and it's not much slower than the T/A through corners on the roads I drive fast on.
Are these tires notorious for having low grip?
And another thing I noticed- it seems like the tire must be rolling over onto the sidewall- there is a slight discoloration on 1/4th of the sidewall and there seems like there's a lot of "slop" and a huge lack of feel through the steering wheel when I'm cornering. The front end has been rebuilt and I've added a wonder bar so I know it's not my suspension... I do have 1* of positive camber (i plan on getting it set to negative sometime soon) from the alignment shop but I don't feel like it should be rolling over this much.
Most of the reviews seem to praise the handling of this tire. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

You have 60 series tires with low cornering ability & some sidewall rollover & you are wondering WHY?
A 60 series says & a narrow footprint says it all.....

Yeah because I've never really heard many people complain about it... but then again most people I know that even halfway care about handling don't run that size...Originally Posted by Stephen

Will switching to the 16x8 GTA's with factory size BFG G-forces make a huge difference like I'm hoping it will? Does anyone know the approximate statistical gain in g's from going to a lower and wider tire?
Re: BF Goodrich Radial T/A cornering
I wouldnt worry so much about the series. My 84 Firebird with 205/70r14's would run circles around any of the 3 WS6 cars I've had. There are a lot of other factors involved in keeping contact and grip besides just the sidewall height.

It's all about treadware rating, the lower the rating , the stickier the tires, BFG TA's- not so sticky!

most of the good cornering 15 inch tires are gone. now all you have is muscle car type tires like the radial gt or el cheapo passenger car tires.
You will more than likley have to go with a 17 or 18 inch wheel as even the silly hondas are coming stock with thos now. only tire tirerack has thats in that size is a perelli p600 for 1000$ a set. you could also sell the tires you have to try and recoup the cost.
hit up craigslist for a set of used corvette wheels and tires for around 300-400 then get a set of adapters. ive seen c6 wheels as of late that had good tires for as little as 300$ then you can go to nearly any tire shop and get good cheap performance tires. and even the new tires can be cheaper than the BFGs you currently have
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Ecsta+AST&partnum=445HR7EAST&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes
or if you are wanting a much grippier tire then thes
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
but seriously if you start breaking limits of traction with thos you will find yourself in a ditch fast.
