Hey guys please help if you can give me some advice. When racing my 1992 Camaro 383 striker, perfomabuilt trans, moser 9 with 4.10 gears with my 275/40/17 Hoosier drag radials I'm shifting into 4th with my size tire. My friend and I are thinking by moving to 28" tall so 28x10x17 full slicks I'll have a way better reaction time and should be in high end of 3rd? Where I make power. Please guys help me out.
Guys any help?? My car shifts into 4th and doesn't really have pull I think if I can set it to finish around high 3rd then I will be more consistent!!! Or any opinions???
Go here and plug in your numbers, and see what changing tires will do. You can start with the 93-97 FBody A4 option to get you started.
What is your current trap speed?
5000 rpm w/ 4.11s and 275/40-17s (25.6" diameter) in 3rd gear (1:1) is 93mph
Changing to 28" tire will reach 101mph.
Or can you run the engine to a higher rpm?

MT 295/45/17 radials are 27.5" tall. A slick is nice for a manual car but you better run a bias play up front. I will be running the 295/45's on my 4th gen WS6 wheels on the street. I need a tall tire with a TH400.
Awesome thanks for the calculator.. I will be running tonight at the race track and then I have more information. Because I would like to get it ready for nitrous. I will be going with the Hoosier 28x10x17 if the calculations tells me to go with 28"
