you'll have to get a vacuum advance dist. and a switch to lock up the TC or get a non lock up one. im sure once five7 sees this thread he'll tell you the same. the stock cc qjet is not a bad carb at all. with a few modifications it will flow 650-700 cfm. this is enough to feed a mild 305.

Well, what I'll say is "don't".
Unless this car is primarily track use, it doesn't make any sense to switch to a non-feedback carb of any ilk. The '86 LG4 was a very good CC carb setup (and from my sig, you should be able to see that I should know). If it has "issues", it will be cheaper to address those issues than to go to a (new) non-CC anything. And, you will not make any improvement to driveability or power by going non-CC.
Spend your money on replacing the single-snorkel air cleaner with a dual-snorkel setup (or fabricate a dual per the tech article), rods & hanger for the secondaries, and beefing up the stock ignition (coil, module). A chip will give you a more agressive spark advance curve, but isn't absolutely necessary. Of course, you absolutely must change out the exhaust system, but that has to be done no matter what carb setup you use.
I believe you have to contact Dirk to get your username changed. All that will do for you is maintain your post count. The other option is to just register another username (I've never tried that, but don't think it would be a problem).

If you switch from the CC carbs dont you have to take the WHOLE computer out? I wanted to do the same thing and keep it for everyday use.
