Feeling lucky punk? I sure am!

After going through my entire ignition today trying to find the reason for a dead cylinder, I decided to pop off a valve cover and take a peek. Wow what a surprise! I noticed the bottom area is machined out larger, so I am checking to see if I can go up to dual springs, although these are supposedly good to .510" lift I can't trust them. Hopefully the seat wasn't damaged.

It's the springs that come with the TrickFlow 23 degrees, I have no idea what brand they are but i'll be sure not to get the same ones!

Same thing happened to my TFS 23 degree heads last August. Only had about 1000 miles on them, never over 5k, was running .495/.502 lift, and it broke the top round off of one spring. I emailed TF and they said they would give me a deal on some different springs but. . .I needed them replaced right away so I bought new ones locally. (I still need to try to contact them and see what they say)

Glad you were lucky too! It didn't do any damage to mine either. I just had them off to change valve covers when I noticed it!

I believe K-motion supplies the springs for TFS, don't they?

They used to, at least.

Wouldn't surprise me.... that looks like what I'm accustomed to seeing K-Motions look like...

Who does Comp's springs? Is it Comp themselves, or do they parse them out to another company?
