Yep. The nifty little device which bypasses your heater core when you don't have the A/C controls set to "hot"

Ok, thx for the help. But why would someone delete it? I mean, you cant control if you want it hot or cold without it?

Is it possible to relocate this thing, so that it not lying between the valve covers and intake manifold?

it does not control the heat, it controls when coolent flows to the heater core. with it removed the coolent flows through the core all the time. there is a heat exchanger door that controls the heat for the HVAC, this has no effect on that.
