Fairly well-known, but rarely done.
Limitations: Car must be '82-87 LG4 or L69 (computer controlled - doing an originally Canadian car would present some problems, such as having a CC q-jet & associated harnesses), must be an automatic, and a TH700 to boot (didn't have them in '82). Power also isn't the advertised 355 that the "normal" ZZ4 crate puts out, either.
Cost: $4500 or so, plus tax & shipping.
Most people prefer doing their own 350 conversion and bolt-on hop-ups for $2000-$3000. It'll pass emissions because it can be just as clean, and still looks like a 305.
Never have heard what gears that "Chevrolet Raceshop's 1987 Camaro test vehicle" that "ran a quarter-mile elapse time of 13.83 seconds at 98 mph" had in it. Something tells me it wasn't a 2.73 open rear.
