I should be good to attend. I have a retirement party for a relative later that afternoon south of Morris but we should be able to stop for a while.
Let's start thinking about getting the next one scheduled so more people can block out their calendar. The 23rd, 24th and 25th of August is when Corn Fest is in DeKalb. There is usually a car show going on and lots of entertainment.
Another option is the National Sweet Corn Festival in Mendota. It's going to be held on August 8-11. Mendota is north of I-80 about 12 miles and west of I-39 about a mile.
Anyway, we're looking forward to the 23rd.

Another option for a gathering is Riverfest in Ottawa. It's from July 24th-August 6th. Food, music, etc. Ottawa is right on I-80 and all of the events are south of the interstate along the river. You can't miss it.

you guys need to come to Amboy for the depot days car show, I'm not sure the real date, but it is always about the last/next to last weekend in august, I'll find out the date, I'm a judge
last year I gave first place in my divison to a 89 Iroc 350
last year the numbers were down (people thought it was gonna rain that day, and a big number come from out of state) I think there was still over 500 entrees

I dont think I will be driving the beast sunday. Valves need runned. So I will ride with HrdRockA4305 or black85transam.
My schedule is officially clear, I should be there. Now I gotta think about what to bring!
Peoria guys: Anyone wants to ride with/follow me let me know ASAP. I'm pretty familiar with getting to the general area, matter of fact i was about 20 mins away from there tonight, so I can get us there no prob from here. Also have some files saved from mapquest. We should collaborate on bringing stuff. It'll take about 1:30 or so to get there, depending on what gears everyone's got. I can fly on the highway with my 2.73s!

Well, "Da Beast" will not be making the appearance. I tried to solve some minor problems that I wanted to take care of before a road trip but they are not solved yet (cooling issue, valve lash set, and a unknown rubbing noise from my right tire) So as I said before, I will be riding with Dave (HrdRockA4305). Maybe I'll bring some pics of the car with 91-92 rims and my 4th gen seats.
Should we bring food, drinks (like Mountain Dew, since it is BYOB [although I dont drink]) or anything else?
See ya all there.

Hey Lurch, don't scrap that 88 just yet! When/if/before you do, contact me. The car sounds almost identical to mine. Where you from anyway?
(Mr. piggy says I'm not old enough for beer yet)
Same goes for me and the other Peoria guys, s'ok though I'm gonna bring a couple 12 packs of this n that, whatever sounds good tomorrow. I'll try n have it cold. I'll probably bring some of my own stuff to grill too.

I'm still planning on making it too guys. I'll have to leave by 2-2:30 but looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing the cars. The weather sure will be different than the Beef-a-Roo gathering!
Bluebird, what time are you going to be there? I can make it by noon or a little earlier if need be.
What's the expected turnout so far? Hope we get a lot!
See everyone tomorrow!
