Replacement seat cover upholstery
Replacement seat cover upholstery
Anyone know where I can buy replacement seat upholstery, not the raw fabric, but sewn into factory replacement seat covers that I can swap onto my seats my self? A complete kit, seat bottom and seat back in factory matching fabric would be ideal.

Third Gen Resource has it on thier websight. I don't know how close the colors match the original but it's the first that I've seen for any camaro/firebird after 1985

Hold on!!! I have the adreess at home of where thirdgen.org buys it from, so let me get it and give it to you to see if you can direct. They took me 2 months to get when they told me 2 to 3 weeks! It is hard to do though, need to do in a cool enviroment instead of busting my a$# in the heat here in Miami trying to do it myself last year, still not 100% done, waiting for a nice cold front on the weekend to come this winter to finish project. 2 hours, huh?
I had black velour from thirdgen, (they get 'em from acme..???, and make $70 for the contact!!).
Took me about an hour to get all seats out.
Took another hour to remove all the hardware.
Took another hour to clean up the crap under the seats. ($1.42 in change, a build sheet, and various sticky sweets)
Now you gotta remove about a hundred hog rings from EACH seat, that takes at least 30 mins per seat.
Now test fit the covers and find that they DO NOT come with the stock seat pad or back rest bar covers. (They tie into the grooves in the foam to make the fabric sit tight.) This takes about 20 mins.
Now sew in some bar covers. Oh, say a couple of hours.
Now Add some additional foam to the drivers and passengers squabs, cuz they're flat. About 30 minutes.
Now put the covers back on, and hog ring them in. That's another two hours min.
Now bolt the seats back in. This about 45 minutes, because the seat belt hardware locating holes are covered by the new fabric. (No pre-cut holes).
What do we have, near on 11-12 hours!!
Just my opinion..I'd do it a bit quicker the next time I suspose.
