For all of you who dont remember i bought the car a few months ago from the widow whose husband was a firefighter and died in his sleep at the firestation. She just wanted to get rid of it because it reminded her of him.It has recaro seats but on top of this it has a power drivers seat which both the SPID and PHS report both show. The people i bought it from had no idea it was anything somewhat special and i got it for a very good price($1700).Kizz,i will send you copies of both the PHS and SPID so you can verify.

It's not a Recaro edition per se, but you could get the seats in 85 and 86.
Pontiac had specific Recaro T/A's for 82 - 84. After that it was just a seat option. Although IMHO, it wasn't much more than that in 82-84 either.
That car looks great for it's age though! Interior is amazing!

When 350 TPI first posted about this car, no one believed that you could get Power Recaro seats from the factory. He proved them wrong.

I wanted to add that i just went down to an upholstery shop and they matched the color and material perfectly. They said that the material is a reissue. The seats are dry rot and i will be getting them done next week. They are charging $150 a seat.Is that a decent price? Also i know the car looks like a turd but i do hope to have it looking good someday soon.

I still can't believe how lucky you were to have found it at all.. not to mention for such a low price. Damn.. some guys have all the luck I was probably the biggest skeptic back when you first mentioned it months ago, but I do think it's legit now. Very very rare car. The only power Recaro f-body I've ever seen. I hope you're right about the material being the same on the seats.. save the old material just in case!
Word of advice: $150 for each seat sounds too low to me.. way too low. Take dozens of pictures of your seats before the operation, because I have a funny feeling they will end up "not quite the same" afterwards.. I've seen it before
Another word of advice: don't let those seat logos get lost in the shuffle! Half the time when I see re-covered Recaro seats, their logos are missing.
Be careful with that and good luck...

Thanks for checkin in, wondering what happened to you!
Recaro repairs are not easy and I would only trust an authorized Recaro repair facility. You can contact Recaro for a list.
I had a small repair done on the drivers seat and that was 80 bucks. 150 is too cheap and you know the addage, you get what you pay for.
Im surprised the shop had pallex samples in house.
I used Larry Dennis Company for my material and for reference their codes are :
LCAT-771 Lt Saddle
LCAT-673 Graphite.
Good luck and keep us posted !

Don,i wasnt sure if you were still on here anymore.Good to hear from you!As far as the seats go the place i am taking it to is the BEST in my area. They do all kinds of cars and vert tops. They did the seats in my 79 T/A a few years ago and did a great job. They said that the recaro emblem would still be there and not to worry.I will post pics after its done. And yes it was the pallex material they matched it up to.
