Electric Cutout: QTEC or McCord?
Hey guys, I posted an advertisement for the McCord Powerplate Group Purchase on the MFBA For Sale board, and a member said their gears strip in less than a week. He showed me this link:
LS1 Tech
So I emailed McCord, and he said:
Fact of fiction? I don't wanna spend $90 on this thing if its fried in a week. Thanks in advance.
LS1 Tech
So I emailed McCord, and he said:
I understand. I have over 1100 of the units out there. If you'd like to
talk to people who's QTEC cutout fell apart after a couple of days, I'd be
more than happy to give you their names. Mine comes with a 1 year/3 year
warranty. Theirs is 90 days.
People can not talk good about my product on the boards since QTEC is a
sponsor and I am not. Any good things on either LS1TECH or LS1.com is
removed per the request of QTEC, so it is a no win situation for me.
Those people are referring to units that we sold over a year and a half ago
where we had problems with the motors. Since then, we have added safety
circuitry in the motor that stopped the gear problem. That circuitry was
added about 9 months ago, and we haven't had a problem since. QTEC does
NOT have this circuitry.

I think I'd go with the QTEC. I've heard good stuff about them but who know with electrical stuff in places like that.

Keith is a great guy to do business with...I have the McCord and I love it. I'm sure the Q-tec is nice too....but.....the McCord was just a little bit cheaper and has it's warranty too....I have had it on a month now....no problems at all.....it's great!
