corvette or S10 stall??
which converter stalls higher a corvette or an S10 behind a SBC. Also, I have an 88 700R4, so when I go into the parts store which year, and make vehicle should I tell them I want a torque converter for? Like I know a 95 S-10 converter would work.....but for a vette stall which year would I ask for?

Try this link. It's an Impala site, but has alot of good info on the converter you're talking about.

I honestly wouldn't buy either. Save up for something that is better, and you will be happier in the end.

well,
it's pay $120 for a ~~2100 S10 stall converter
or pay $380 for a B&M 2400 stall converter
or $600+ for a 3000+ converter I don't have my car set up for.
All I need is a 2000ish stall for a motor under 350HP so I thought that would be ok...??? Are you saying that they're crap? or they would fail under a cammed 305?

I have this converter in my 87 IROC. I think it's an excellent bang for the buck upgrade, and a noticeable improvement over stock.

Sorry, no times, I don't race the car. But, if your currently running the stock converter, you will feel the difference with this one, especially from a standing start.

I used to have the L35 converter and I liked it. If you need an inexpensive converter and don't want anything real radical, this is definatly one to consider.

I'm a little clueless here - but is the sole purpose of the convertor so that you can rev it up while you hold the gas without the tires spinning?
If so - this is something you'd only notice when you actually go to race it?

Here's a link that discusses Torque Converter operation-

You don't have to race to feel the difference.
