Finally Pics Of New Paint & Mods
Finally Pics Of New Paint & Mods
Well here are the pics of my car before and after the wreck that nearly totalled my car. Besides brand new paint & airbrushed flames I have added an ss hood, clear sidemarkers, new frontend parts(due to damage in wreck), new wings west reproduction spoiler(the old one cracked when I took it off),and a few other engine and interior dress up parts.

86FyrBird: the whole paint job cost $2250 that was bodywork, primed, sanded, 5 coats of black, 5 different candy colors in the flames, 4 coats of high definition clear, and wet sanded/ buffed.
Yeah these pics are just some I snapped as it was getting dark it looks a lot better in the sunlight.

Man it sucks when someone hits your car. It never feels the same .... but I gotta say ... that new paintjob is sweet. I like the detail alot. Might be one of the nicest flame jobs I've ever seen on a 3rd gen. Good job!!! It looks like you have the same hood gap that I have. I wish I knew how to get rid of that gap (between the hood and the front clip).
Yeah that is one of the wonders of an aftermarket hood, it is bothering the hell outta me. It was worse but I played with the latch some and got it better. I still am gonna work on it some more when I get a chance. Thanks for all of your commpliments.

WOW, that looks incredible!! I've seen alot of paint jobs in my time and that is one of the best i've seen. I put it up there with the hood of my vette!
Very nice I must say again!! I think you have the best looking 3rd gen on this page. There are alot of awsome cars on here but i would drag my ***** through some glass for that baby! Do you clean your wheels often? I was going to get them but didn't want polished. Just wondering what your cleaning "cycle" consists of!! Drive carefully!!:hail:

Drive carefully!!:hail: I clean them with eagle one A2Z All Wheel Cleaner every time I clean the car for shows and such. Then about every month or so polish them with mothers metal polish. Zoops just came out with a product that supposedly seals polished aluminium to where you don't have to polish it just clean it, kinda of like a clear coat. I have not tried this, but am considering it.

Holy ****, that looks incredible. I don't really like how it looks all smeared on the nose (could just be the pic), but on the sides, it looks great. I can't believe you got it done for that cheap. Very sweet.:hail:

MY OPINION:
from the hood back down the side of the fenders, it looks absolutly amazing.....
something needs to be done about the front clip, it shoudl start out not so "BUSY", that is just too much going on...
like start out more of a solid color then work its way into what it looks like on the fenders,
i still think it looks awesome, u definetly are on top 5 of best looking thirdgens to me...
the car actually looksl ike its on fire, but the front of it where it starts our just looks to busy

I have to agree that it does look amazing, but I also have to agree with a few others that the front is too busy for my tastes. I think if you took out that painted grill and put in a stock 'bowtie' grill it would look 10x's better! Awesome car
One more thing, maybe its just the pics, but the front could definately use a lowering
Maybe you want it that way so you don't scrap the front air dam though...

I agree with the rest here it should be more of a solid color on the front then fade into the detailed flames but
awsome paint job non the less I think I want to do something like that when I get my car.

One word, INSANE! Nice work on that thing man. A little too busy for me as well, but i still like it. One question though, what is on your air box? It almost looks like carbon fiber. Car looks real good. One suggestion though(since everyone seems to have one) get some nice lowering springs to get that thing looking near perfect! IMO anyway. Good luck with it this time around. Keep up the good work-later.

That's a very unique and unbelivably detailed flamejob!! And, I must say you got an amazing deal on it too!
Pretty cool how you went from the flame job with nearly as few flames as possible, to almost the most flames I've ever seen
Good job!

Ken

Pretty sweet. Great job on the flames. Not the best I've seen though. I saw some on a 80's chevy truck that down right looked absolutely real, the flames looks so real and it had real looking smoke coming off of it. Had to cost a pretty penny!
But nice car for sure!

Damn those flames look really sweet. Not to mention the price, thats cheap for a job like that. You must know someone, or did a bunch of the work yourself. Anyways the car is awesome. Love the skulls.

I've seen the flames that look 100% real, and I have to say that I like yours better. Not quite as perfect as real flames. It helps to keep the "hotrod" image i think.
Fantastic!

Holy crap! Have you been busy! Seems like just the other day last time I saw it. Now look at it. And Joe and I were just wonder what a flame job like that would look like on a car... I can't wait to see it in person. We definately have to get our show scheduals down so we can hit the same show. I can't wait to see this in the sun!

Awesome job.....oh...by the way David Culpepper....what did you use for the grill in your SS hood? I have the SS on my black 91 Z28..and it just came with a black grill....I love the looks of your grill in your SS hood....!
