just bought an 82 firebird s/e weird air sound coming from inside HELP

Hi i just bought an 82 firebird s/e lg4 v8 and it has a weird air sound coming from the radio/ac heater control area it comes on everytime i turn the car on.Can anyone help the best gusse i have is thats it might be a vacume hose

Welcome aboard.

The heater/AC control has a vacuum switch on it. It could have become unconnected, or a vacuum line broken/cracked. The valves themselves have been known to leak, too.

I had the same problem. Those vacuum connections back there are your culprit. Rub a little vasaline on them....just a little, and make sure they are seated good and that should take care of it.
