Georgia folks...who's going to SDR tomorrow?

Just a reminder in case you don't know- Grudge Wars at Silver Dollar Raceway tomorrow. The weather should be great.

More info here: http://www.street-lethal.com/grudge2003.html

Don't let their name fool you...they were kind enough to open it to ALL American cars, not just Mustangs.

Who's gonna help represent the 3rd gens? I'm gonna make the 2 1/2 hour trek from Valdosta so I can test out the new Stealth Ram and 230/236 cam combo. I'll post my results tomorrow. Hope to see you all there!

SDR Grudge Wars Results

I didn't see another IROC there on Sunday but I will post the results for those that might be wondering.

You'll especially like this because the guy that won almost the entire thing drives an IROC! (so do I :-) )

Well I didn't get pics but I wanted to report that I went with the Eatonton gang to the Grudge Wars and am happy to report that out of the 5 guys that went this is out it went.....

All 5 won their 1st and 2nd runs after qualifying then 2 (Andrew in a 3rd gen TA, and Adam in a 4th gen TA) were the Red Light kings and were eliminated. Then it was down to....Sean (3rd gen - 89 Z28), Jimmy (3rd gen - 87 IROCZ), Lester (3rd gen) and our friend Dale (64 Falcon) who went a few rounds and kept winning then Sean went against Jimmy and Jimmy won (yeah!) even though Sean had the fastest car (9.50 was the best for the day). Then it was down to Dale and Jimmy for the FINAL big winner (Weiner) of the slicks bracket and JIMMY WON !!! Nope his feet still aren't touching the ground.

Then their was a total of 4 class winners that had to run each other for the final winner. Jimmy beat the winner of a class and a Stank won over someone in another class and it was down to those two. The Stank won but not by much!

Oh well- Jimmy still kicked *** and I'm mega proud. Ok that's Robin's Racing Report LOL

If anyone on this list got pics and would post them I'd love to see!! We were retards and forgot the camera.

Congratulations to your friend Jimmy for running very well!

Me on the otherhand...the new setup wasn't running as good as I thought. The butt dyno really is no substitute for track times.

At the same time though I wasn't surprised....tuning was WAY off (still running the old PROM), and I kept having this weird bog after shifting into 3rd so that was slowing me down. Plus it was pretty damn hot that day. I was only pulling high 12s with the best run being:

60'....1.85
1/4....12.87
mph...105.76

My 60 foots sucked, I was running consistent 1.8s. All my other runs were in the 12.90s. I ran a little better with more fuel pressure and less timing. That bog after 3rd gear, I haven't figured it out yet. It's not fuel pressure because it didn't drop off the entire run, so it's probably ignition related or something in the PROM. Oh well, I still had fun.

Wow, you must have some little electrical gremlin hiding in your engine bay somewhere like you said. I'd check out your distributor and the entire fuel system. Your car should be running at least as fast as your old setup even with the same tune. JMO. How's the low end compared to your 219 setup? I bet you'll miss some of that tq while driving on the street.

Not bad at all considering all the factors, just sounds like tuning. I just finished reading an article on the GMHTP website about the HSR. It seemed to like a bunch of timing. They found that 14 degree base worked best. Started out running 13.0's and tweaked it down to 12.6. Also, your shift points maybe too low or high. I would think about 6200-6400rpms with the 230-236 combo depending on the heads would be about right. Good luck.

the stealth ram is extremely effective at filling the cyliders in the 4500rpm-6500rpm range, your gearing, fuel curve and ignition must match that rpm range for the best results, if you stop thinking TPI and its low end tq start thinking TUNNEL RAM INTAKE with its killer mid range and killer high rpm power and gear and tune the car that way youll have more luck!
