lining the hood up...
To start off with, I rear ended somebody, and it bent my front end up a bit so that the hood didn't work and didn't line up. the major problem was that the hood lined up on the sides (didn't over hang) but at the CENTER of the hood, it over hangs the nose piece by a little bit. I assume that the center of the nose piece got pushed in.
Well, got the camaro back from the body shop, and the frame is not the problem, it was not bent. (didn't think I hit the guy hard enough to bend it)
But, they did adjust the fenders, hood, and front nose so that everything lines up alot better, and the hood works now!! wohoo! I just put some new hood struts on ($22 each, life time warrenty from Checker), and it stays open by it self now!

Any way, the hood still over hangs the nose piece by just a little, and I'm wondering if I can stuff some plastic strips behind the top part of the nose to push it out a little bit? or would there be another way?
Or would it be easier to push the entire hood back slightly untill the hood lines up with the center of the nose, and then sand down the side parts of the nose till they meet up with the hood? Here in this next picture, I would sand down the yellow part to match the pushed back hood. does that make sense?

and here is what I mean about the hood over hanging a bit in the center:

My formula was like that and i was swapping to a 84 style nose so i had to change the actual bumper behind the cover so it would fit and now the hood doesn't hang over any more so i think it was the actual bumper.
i am not sure, if remember right it's different taking the nose off of a Camaro than Firebird.
the actual metal bumper itself is held on by 4 13mm bolts on both sides those are easy to get to, like i said i have,nt changed a Camaro nose yet but i have 87 Iroc i am working on right now that i need to remove the nose and fenders on...it might be awhile though.
