I have put a fiber glass scoop on my metal hood not too long ago actually. its a pain in the *** but easy.I cut this shape "U" out on the metal hood so its a real cowl induction. then i centered the scoop where i wanted it, striked a line all the way around , then sanded down roughly to where it was going to sit. then mixed up the body filler, put it on the bottom of the scoop. "the wide tracks on each side, also on the fron of it i put some. then i hurried and placed it on the hood, make sure everything is down on the hood. then i sanded it down to get flush then kept putting somemore filler to flush it better. there might be alittle crack but im gunna fill it.

the good thing about adding the cowl to a stock hood is that the hod will fit perfectly.

crazy3rdgen, you didnt have to rivet the scoop onto the hood? Or did the putty act as a glue for the scoop to stay on the hood?

Hey

Yeah it acted as a nice glue then it was just a process of blending it in with the hood using the filler.. i did screw the hood down on the front where it was coming up alittle bit till it dried.. then i just unscrewed the screws and filled those little holes. its not that hard but i heard taking off the metal hood and switching to a fiberglass hood bolt on saves you about 20 lbs. its not bad so i'll just go with that later on a nice 4 inch cowl
