A/C delete and now no fan!
I just finished doing the a/c delete on my Formula and used formul8!'s post on how to keep the 4 speed fan to the letter. Now the fan won't come on at all. I have 3 electrical connectors that are now unused at the heater box and two at the compressor location. I removed everything from the condenser on back to the firewall so none of the original system remains except for the wiring. I've ckecked everything I can think of and still no fan. Anyone have any ideas?

Big,square looking thing with several wires going into it mounted on a sheetmetal bracket? It's attached with the same results.

If you're using your car's old A/C wiring, you should have apurple wire from the relay to the blower motor; a black wire to the blower motor housing; the relay; red wire from the relay to another red wire, they connect together about the resistors (circuit board looking thing with 3 "springs" on the inside and 4 terminals on the outside); the original control head.
Check to see if you have 12V, ever, anywhere in the system. If not, check the fuse, and make sure the main power supply wire (brown) is still hooked up to the control head.

Mike, I just reused my original fan motor. A few washers/spacers and she's good to go. I used some silicone sealant for the cracks, but I test ran it with the gaps open, and the fan inside the car was just fine.
...I'm gonna make a nice aluminum spacer "when i get time". LOL

I'm reusing my original fan motor as well. I'm wondering if any of these connections for the a/c system may have something to do with it besides the high speed relay. I'm also thinking that I may have just overtightened the screws and compressed the foam gasket too much and the fan may be jammed against the firewall. I'll check tomorrow when I have more time. Any other ideas?

Did a check yesterday and I've got voltage all the way up to the relay but no voltage from the relay to the motor so I'm thinking bad relay unless anyone here can offer any other options. A response from another board said something about adding a ground wire from the motor to ground but the post here by formul8! didn't mention that. Anyone?

Relay is no longer the culprit. I replaced it today and now have voltage up to the connector for the motor. Now to pull the motor. What are the odds on both the relay and the motor going at the same time?

Problem solved. Motor wasn't bad after all. Turns out a small spacer thing underneath the fan cage was causing it to butt up against the firewall. Removed the spacer and after some carefull tightening all is well.
