vortec heads on a TPI motor
Is there any aftermarket manifold that will allow me to run a set of aftermarket Vortec fastburn heads while retaining the Tuned Port Injection on my car? I want to add a few more ponies without emptying my pockets in the process ( too much, any way). Thanks in advance.

I was entertaining this for my swap as well, but went carbed for the time being. Price is right at $400

Where did you read about the manifold at? On-line or in a magizine? The carb is another idea of mine, but I want to maitain a factory look, more or less. How hard would it be to get 300-320 hp? I was thinking about Vortec heads, Hooker headers, true dual flowmasters, and aftermarker runners.

This is where I first read about it
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/56858/
From what they say it should flow more than enough air to get the horsepower you're looking for.

I read it in carcraft March 03 They said heads + intake equals a 40 horsepower swap. This would get you to your goal maybe,
good luck.
good luck.

Thanks alot for the info. I will let you know how things work out. The goal of 300-320 isn't that high, but with that much, I could keep the 700R-4 and not have to reinforce the uni-body, right? Going to college and having to sink everthing you make into a car isn't the most productive thing in the world. Maybe a strut bar, but nothing to dramatic. What are the limits of the trans and the uni-body? I hear 500 h.p. for the uni-body and 'bout 350-400 for the trans. Is that right?

My car makes 315 at the wheels. No subframe connectors w t-tops and a stock 700. I will probably get ripped for this but I think subframe connectors are a waste of $ *if less than 400hp plus they add more weight.

Ok. That sounds good to me. I like the idea of a stiffer frame, but the extra weight isn't a thing I like. What does you guys think about Bilstein shock/struts? I found a set at AutoZone that are 180 dollars. Here is the link to the page that has them all listed?
Would this fall under the heading of performance not worth the price?

Oh. I'll need some new ones soon. I still need to decide to whether I am gonna get a different car or keep mine. That is what will determine how much I spend on the shocks for mine. I think I will post mine for sell.

Thats cool I know how important it is to have what you want.
It took a year to find the exact car I wanted. I wanted an 89
Iroc-z Metallic blue 5.7 auto t-top 4 wheel disc 9 bolt with power
seat. When I found it I had to overpay but is more important to get what you want cause you will be happier overall. What are you looking for?

I don't really care about the color, as long a it is in good shape, 87-92 and has a 350 with at least 240 horsepower. That I can live with. But I am particular about the condition of the car- and options. Love the t-tops!!!

I have them in my '91 GTA. Instead of piecing it together I just went ahead and bought the crate engine from Scoggin-Dickey. Its rated at 360hp which is good enough for a daily driver. Until I get some more funds that is.

Nevermind.... found it. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...8/index12.html Pretty good price. Instead of personal build-up of the stock motor, I may go the crate.
Then there is having to buy the injectors, rails, throttle body..... Could the ones off the stock 350 be used untill replacement money reveals itself?
