Pics of Hugger³

Here are a couple of the pics that I took today when I picked up Hugger from the impound:

As you can see there is no new body damage other than the rear gfx (behind the tire) are both shattered. Also the windshield was kicked out, and the passenger window is gone. The drivers window is chipped on top but basically ok, the rear hatch and t-tops weren't touched. A few scratches, but so what.

My air cleaner is gone, but I didn't like it anyway, and the rest of the engine compartment was untouched. The hood louvers, grille and taillights were fine. The exhaust system doesn't look like it was damaged when they loaded it on the tow truck yesterday. They stole my brand new delco professional battery, and put an old (but working) battery in it.

In the interior, the shifter was destroyed of course (removing the anti-theft bar), as was the steering column. My tools, keys to Blue, and 145 mph speedo / 5500 tach are all gone, as are my shop manuals. My t-top bag is still there, and the seats and stuff are fine I think. Everything is just covered with tons of glass. I'll have to pull the seats, carpet, dash, and console in order to clean it all out.

When they took the wheels off they didn't put it on blocks, just dropped it to the ground. Nothing damaged in the suspension or discs/drums that I can tell. They were pretty amaturish in the way they did this. There are fingerprints all over the car. The police pulled prints off the exterior door, and when I rolled up the drivers window, it was covered, and the police are going to come out tomorrow and pull the prints off the interior of the glass (that is proof they were in the car, outside prints are hard to make stick since it could be someone just walking by).

All in all, it could have whole lot worse. Some things to replace and a lot of cleaning, but definately fixable.

Man seeing the pics just pisses me off. I can imagine how you feel. Just no respect for other peoples things at all. To steal and trash a car just for what they took? Somebody needs some serious *** kicking. I too will be at the swap meet this weekend. The timing of this and as amateur as it looks, I wouldnt be surprised to find a pile of wheels, your battery and speedo all in the same pile.

Good luck, looks like a hella mess to me though. Have you tried running it yet? No knocks or anything? Engine and tranny would be my next big worry.

Yes, I'll have my cell phone on Saturday (I have it on 24/7). I too will be there Saturday since I am working parking duty from 5am-9am. The car runs just fine. The tranny did make a noise once, but I'm hoping that it wasn't damaged. I won't know until I get it on the road. I'm seriously considering my friends offer on my 502 right now, though I really don't want to sell it.
