Re: Oscar Sebastian, steer clear of this thief.

I bought a 87 GTA last year that was originally a 305 5 speed that had a 350 short block swap with worked over 305 heads years ago. The smog system was removed when I got it and all the other emissions stuff too. No codes. car ran pretty good at first.

i found Oscar Sebastian on Facebook and contacted him to burn a chip for my car. I already had an adapter. From my 93 Blazer I didn't need.

I paid Oscar via money order $75 bucks. I got my chip a couple weeks later and put it in the car. The car ran like dogsh$$. Wouldn't rev past 4000, it was sluggish, and had all kinds of engine codes. AND I couldn't get the idle less than 1200 rpms!

oscar wanted to burn me a new chip, and hounded me repeatedly. Offering $35 for a reburn.

i put the origional chip back in my car, and it solved all my problems. Revs up to 5k no problem, runs like it's supposed to, no check engine lights, and idles at 650-700 rpm. Obviously it was tuned years ago.

back to the 93 K1500 TBI Blazer, I built a 383 with vortec heads for it, with a modified TBI, and edelbrock intake. Brian Harris TBIchips tuned it. He was more expensive, but his reburns are free till it's right. I'm happy with his work.

when I put the 383 in my TA, I will have him do the burn too.

how good is his tunes. this might fix my afr problem. ive bought many chips and retuned reburned chips to correct my fueling issue. at wot it runs 10.5 and no higher then 11.0 after 3 chips. with the maf plugged in its dead 10.0 wich is as low as my afr will read. my car runs good though but one other issue is when idling with my maf unplugged it idles about 15.5 afr and sometimes spikes to 18 afr. he did say he would fix it with the next tune. welp im here to tell ya it didn't. I need a good tune for my 86 tpi, but don't know who to get.. I do get 28 mpg though.

You should get tuner pro and do a tune yourself.
For wot there is a table WOT % change to AF ratio at WOT vs. RPM.

https://www.moates.net/burn2-chip-programmer-p-197.html

http://tunerpro.net

If you need a adx or xdf you can find them here.
http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...er-Info!/page2

86 uses $32 mask
87-88 $32B
89 $6e
If you do a read on your prom you can see the mask your running. Most illuminate the ninth injector and go with $6e mask.

thank you very much... my 9th injector is still connected but I think it was programed out so I should go with the $6e?

and thank you again I will be getting this stuff soon so I can start fixing my problems and stop throwing my money out. I have like 5 chips so I should be good there.

Re: Oscar Sebastian, steer clear of this thief.

I would go with $6e, you can do a read on your chip and then once loaded into tuner pro do control-H. This will bring up the hex values. 8-9 are the mask.
You could also look at the buffer once the read is done too.
You can change the percent change in power enrichment for wot .

Sorry to jack this thread.

Re: Oscar Sebastian, steer clear of this thief.

Sounds like the same company I got my custom programmed chip from. My dealings were smooth , I paid $76 shipped and while it did not come with instructions, John walked me through the whole thing over the phone. My car feels faster and I actually spin tires now lol. I would say it was def worth the money for this mod.

Re: Oscar Sebastian, steer clear of this thief.

He has been exposed as a liar and a hack time aND time again. Most f body groups have banned him for harassment and stealing people' money what you feel is a placebo effect. He does not tune anything he just slaps open source bins onto chips and drop ships them. You paid that guy $70 to load a file. The chips cost a whole $5 and he grabs from the oem bins and flips a few flags. There is no excuse for his actions and he's been pulling this con for a long time now.

And your likely addressing the scammer/thief right now .....

Ever notice how it's always a brand new poster with exactly 0 "forum cred" that regularly creeps in here to sing the praises of this scumbag "oscar/john/whatever" guy ? That's because it's the scammer himself tryin to drum up some more "sales" when he has run out of folks to screw .

Anyone want's a REAL chip burned talk to the established forum member "TunedPerformance" and you'll get the chip you pay for .

Possibly, I already went through the 6 posts, could be him or it could be someone who really doesn't know. I will always make it a point to respond to these posts and link his track record on facebook. When we stop talking about it, he manages to snake more people. I've gone round for round with him and his many aliases over the years. We have snuffed him out of the major groups on Facebook and he has been trying to wiggle his way into the truck pages.

Kudos to you for trying to warn as many folks as possible about "oscar/john/etc" .

The thing is , when you have a proven quantity like Brian (TunedPerformance) there really IS no need to risk doing business with anyone else . I've been a member here since 2012 and have seen Brian help literally thousands of folks with free advice , folks who've never bought a chip from him , and the Man is a site sponsor as well , meaning he not only does business here he gives BACK to the board financially to help "keep the lights on" . Contrast that with the scammer you mention and the point is clear , someone want's a chip ? Go with the proven winner and leave the gambling to the casino . I can't say enough good things about Brian because I've seen him in action , seen his track record here , and believe the Man deserves as much chip business as this site can possibly send him , he deserves that trust because he's EARNED that trust .

you're absolutely right, I've seen him help countless members since 2011 as well, I planned to go through him for my new build when its finished. I've seen John Wayne rip off so many people over the years left and right while Brian was here trying to help people, not scam them. Hes a good guy and has certainly earned his spot in this community. The issue with the scammer is he preys on people who dont know any better or those who want to save a few bucks.

Another big for Brian. I have been one of those many that he has helped out. He is great to work with and is a stand up guy. I purchased a chip from him and he was there for full support with the install of the chip. Shortly after the chip was installed I had an unrelated problem with the car, He helped me with that and even offered a refund for the chip as it may have been the problem. The chip was fine and after I found the issue I put the chip back in as it did make the car perform better. Thanks Brian for all you do for use on this board!
If you are in need for tuner help or a performance chip there is only one guy you should talk to...Tuned Performance.

I can vouch for Oscar's work or John's work. Outstanding chip. I got one for my car and my buddy purchased one a few months ago. Both work flawlessly and I would recommend them as well. Sounds like someone has a personal grudge with this guy and spread a bunch of rumors. I am in a car club and several members have a chip by this same guy/company. Nobody has had an issue. Just saying.

Re: Oscar Sebastian, steer clear of this thief.

Ok, found a guy that does datalogging using Tunerpro and we loaded up my chip that i purchased. Guy read the chip to his computer and there is actually a lot changed vs stock. He said fuel maps ,timing maps, accelration enrichment ,power enrichment, and about 10 more things are different than what the stock chip would have had? so ,this makes me a believer. haha Car does perform better and I ran 3 tenths of a second quicker at our local track. Seems to be worth the money in my book! will keep u guys posted.
