Holley float adjustments
Clockwise with the nut=float down
Counter Clockwise=float up
But which of these, float up or down lowers the fuel level. Is the needle on the same side as the float, or the other?
Anyways.....my levels are too high and I need to lower the levels.
Stupid question I know. Just never dealt with a Holley.

Float down___>fuel level down
Float up_____>fuel level up.
you want it just below the site hole...such that it just trickles out when you rock the car.
Thats not something you mess with and tune...once it's set right..leave it.

Yeah, just got it fired up and the 6.5 psi fuel pressure was overloading it...once I get it down I will leave it.

Car: 86 firebird with 98 firebird interi
Engine: pump gas 427sbc Dart Lil M 13.5:1
Transmission: Oldani TH400 w/ BTE 9" convertor

Not to sound like a dumbass, but try not to lean on the car too much when setting your floats. Had a brain fart one night in the shop when we installed mine and kept wondering why the bowls were always full even after we turned them down, and down,...I had all my weight on the front "tool tray" leaning over the carb. Like I said dumb... mistake but we also had a group of guys so space around engine bay was limited.
