Motorized Trunk Latch
I am the original owner of a 1988 IROC-Z Convertible who is selling the vehicle to a man flying in from Texas this afternoon. While opening the trunk to clean it out the latch motor sounded week. It failed to latch upon closing and continues to do so. There is power to the adjacent switched light. I would be so very grateful if anyone could help me solve this issue today.

Re: Motorized Trunk Latch
Is your battery weak? Perhaps starting it would be enough to give it the juice it needs to operate properly.

Newbie (sorta)
Hello Lon,
I registered on 3rdgen. Basically just to communicate with someone knowledgeable on 3rdgen convertibles. I believe that person is you.. lol... I have been reading threads with you in them for 10+ yrs. I just recently purchased a 1988 vert in need of some attention, this is my second one (first was a 1989, been 4 in my family though). With all that said I can tell you are the man I need to communicate with. That is if you don't mind. Already I can see that this car is different than my first in more ways than I realized. Please email me at tommybbguns83@gmail.com
