Nipple on radiator help....
Ok folks.... The 1/2 or 5/8 plastic nipple on our radiators that sits a bit below the radiator cap on my setup is leaking. I bypassed and eliminated the need to have this line connected, so I used a Heater hose rubber cap with a clamp on this nipple.
My issue is that the cap dry rots and starts to crack and leak every few months or so.
What can I do for a more permenant fix for this. It is a plastic nipple so I don't know what to do. I thought about tapping it and inserting a threaded plug, but finding a tap for this side hole is proving to be a little pricey.
Any suggestions or thoughts??

Don't need a new radiator.... All of the radiators come with the same nipple..

Re: Nipple on radiator help....
i have the same problem with my aluminum radiator. whatever plug i put on that nipple lasts about 6 months then cracks and leaks. Next time i might just pull the damn radiator and have the hole welded shut. You cant do that unfortunately.
i will look like crap, but yopu may be better of using a short piece of heater hose, then a brass plug clamped into that. The hose seems to be much better made than any cap i have every seen
