I wish I could do it myself, I have eczema on my hands that comes and goes and right now they're bad.

One thing I'm noticing in perusing craigslist is that 95% of the cars have suffered horrible inhumanities and are total beaters, and the other 5% are of the caliber in this thread...it's kind of funny, there truly is no middle ground, that being nice, low-value (RS, Firebird, etc.), high mileage cars...it's pretty much one extreme or the other.

Thank you!
This thread has quite a variety of really nice stuff... I look forward to the new replies and additions... It's nice to see that there is a following for clean, original stuff... Not to take away from restored cars, but they're only original once...

Thanks very much for the compliment on my car, i'm going to start to get it sorted again this month. I need to do a little interior work and it needs to be detailed under the hood. Updated pics to come

I get to see a lot of highly modified cars on this site. I created this thread to show case original and close to original cars. normally if you have a low mileage car the mods you want to keep mods to a minimum or very tasteful. sometimes it's a curse. I know I modified my exhaust to have the tips I love but the tint and the plastidip can be removed an she is almost 99% stock. great cars everyone!!! keep them coming!
I would be remiss to not include the one that got away. the one owned by 1badgta. he hasn't been on here for a while but it is a 41k mile 89 GTA with 5.7 and t-tops! I tried to get ahold of him when I was ready to buy but cldnt reach him. I bought local in stead but he qualified when these pics were taken
as you can tell I copied his look
anyway. good one to include!

Thanks for the props on the vert! Here is a photo of the JY car from a few months ago before I put the correct N10 exhaust on it. Its got 95K so its not in the low mileage category, but it is a 5.7, dead stock and everything on it works.

Mine again. Now at 35k miles. Won 1st place 82-92 street class (not stock class since windows tinted) at Camaro Superfest in Michigan this past July 6th. Also won best stock engine overall for 82-92. Drove 400 miles each way from KY....performed flawlessly!

Yes it is. I saw this car in person before BadBilly442 bought it and it's a GTA piece of history. I am so happy a guy like him got it, it will have great care and be an example of a stock GTA for all of us.
Another great GTA to have posted in this thread is AngryBird's GTA, hint, hint....

My 89 IROC, almost 43,000 miles on her. Bought her in 2011 with 32,634 miles from a local car dealership. I am the 2nd owner. Very lucky find for me.

re: LOW Mile (50K or less) Third Gens - post yours!
I picked up my low mileage F-body a couple of months ago - still working on getting it road worthy... 1984 TA, just a hair over 17k miles and a lot of "hot rod" stuff started on it and not finished... Still has '86 inspection, city sticker and plates on it!
Here's a pic from how I got it in the guy's garage...
Short story from what I understand - blew the motor in '86, decided to "build" it, got started with engine swap, changed directions several times (stock to performance to wanting TPI, etc.), last iteration he ended up with what he called a "Copy of a ZZ4 engine" - which from the papers is a 'new' GM 350 short block, GMPP 'corvette' aluminum heads and q-jet intake, Carb was done at 'the carb shop' to 'stage 2' specs, Crane cam, Rhodes lifters, roller tip rockers, etc. Has Herb Adams VSE sway bars, Dana 44 rear, Crane Cams EMS computer, B&M Converter and full transkit, and a ton of other 'go fast' period parts... Had a hurst dual-gate shifter but he sold it before I bought the car!
Brought the car home on a trailer with a ton of boxes in the bed of the truck of all the parts still off the car... The engine hadn't had oil in it or been started since being (somewhat) installed!
Plan right now is to finish everything on it, detail it, and probably sell it when my daughter gets her license since I expect it's going to be too much car for her to drive as a 1st car...

re: LOW Mile (50K or less) Third Gens - post yours!
If I remember the warranty periods were awful short back then so I'm assuming he was just out of warranty or he just wanted to hot rod it and I know the warranty wouldn't cover a 350 engine upgrade...
I knew he was a hot rodder when he said he traded in his '82 TA because he HAD to have the '84 since it had a lot more power than his '82...

ouch that reminds me when I got my 86 back in the day. I picked up the TA from the dealership the day after it arrived from factory (ordered it they way I wanted)
it overheated that night...
they said the fan was not connected as it should have been!
ran fine after that though

Hopefully, I'll be posting a pic of a 1987 IROC-Z in blue soon. I was contacted by someone with a 512 mile original that is thinking of selling. Once I get the pics, I'll post 'em.

re: LOW Mile (50K or less) Third Gens - post yours!
The car in the other post had 5000 miles, not 512. Different cars. Also, I can't afford the 512 mile car. I'd love to own it as it's a twin to my car only in blue. That's my favorite IROC-Z color. The owner contacted me about a few details with the car and mentioned that he was looking to sell it. I offered to trade cars with him, but that didn't fly!

Trans Am Nationals in a few weeks, I'll look for nice Third Gens and if they meet the requirement, post pictures here. Also, if they are on thirdgen.org or not.
I am not sure if BadBilly442 still owns that green 91 GTA, he hasn't posted on here for a long time or on GTA Source.
Not changing subjects here, but did anyone see the 8K mile Flame Red GTA on e-bay for sale? What a nice car.

Good Idea saving those gatorbacks! I wish I could buy a set for the car I just bought. I will post photos of it here when it arrives from Georgia. It only has 29500 miles on it.
