Buying a 1984 TA

Buying a 1984 TA
I'm looking at buying a 1984 Trans Am tomorrow. The seller told me the VIN is 1G2AW87G4EL252XXX. It's black with a 350/turbo 400 swap, supposed to be fast and the pics didn't show any rust (a big concern around here - Pacific NW).
From what I can find out on the web,it should originally be an L69 car though that engine is long gone. Also, made in LA - late build? I'm a little confused by the numbering sequence as I thought it started at L100001 and only 127 thousand or so Firebirds were made in LA so #252XXX seems to be too high numerically. Just want to make sure it's a legit Trans Am.
Anyone have L69 production numbers for Van Nuys and any more info to add before I look at it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Buying a 1984 TA
Thanks, just wanted to be sure. I've read that G is L69 HO which is really the one I want. I ordered a red 5 speed HO back in 84 when I was a student. I optioned it up pretty good and unfortunately couldn't afford to take delivery of it when my summer job fell through.
This car is a black automatic but I'm tired of waiting for a red 5 speed car to show up.
