Oh dear, where to start... I'll preface this by this thread will not updated weekly, or biweekly, maybe not even tried weekly. .. main reason, I'm not doing anything to the car til snows on the ground. I'm slowly hoarding the parts, giving myself time to bid on if I really can go through with this... oh how it would be sooo much easier just to pick up a new coyote 5.0 or even a C6Zo6... but that's just cookie cutter, tossing in the towel... so here's my start
some of you may know, may not know, don't care, or option 4 "who the hell are you and where are my pretzels".
however, this is NOT my original 1987 IROC, I traded that off years ago right before finishing that build... don't ask..
But as all of us die hard 3rd genners are, we can't just have 1 or 2 or 3... so anyway as the car sits right now it's stock 305/700 with a 00 10 bolt I through in with disc and 3.42. With the prop valve set this things stops like it should. Did mini suspension while I was under there..
Oh this thing was Ziebarted from factory so it's clean..
And the gen4 5.3 I picked up.. zero miles, was built, broken in/tested @ GM then top end stripped and sold to me.. never seen a chassis..
Plan is to delete DOD, LS7 lifters and ARP the rods and be done searching for 243 heads now and already have a cam...

Go with some heads from Advanced induction, send in what came on the 5.3.
Only way hunting for 243s is worth it is if u get them cheap. At current prices its not really worth it.
What kind of accessories and intake you going to run?

I definitely recommend AI for porting work on the stockers if you can find a decent set. Before I bought my AFR 195's I was looking at sending a stock casting in to AI for the 200cc package, I just didn't want to wait considering the results would have been very similar.
