85z gets ls1 swap by tpi terror sgv so cal
this summer i finished up a ls1 swap on this 85z. Ive done several ls swapped thirdgens with t56, and this was my first 4l60e so wiring was a bit more time consuming.
We ditched the 355 cammed. w/ carburetor / 700r4 and went with a 02 ls1 and 4l60e
Cam, supporting mods, a stall, racing inn. headers, and going with a nice exhaust set up. Has c5z brakes and suspension goodies.
interior we ditched the 3g interior and went with a 4g camaro dash, functional hvac for heater and 4g cluster all functional. tcc switch, hooked up . 3g shifterunder the 4g center console. parking neutral switch wired up !
4g fuel tank with aero pump n fuel access door, 4g fuel lines,
i always use spohn motor mounts and hawks double hump transmission member for optimum exhaust clearance. it looks like its going to be a tight fit on passenger side and driver side by the 4g ls1auto shifter selector. (needs to be bent for better clearance)
oil pan clearance was tight we did a notch on the original k member, used 4g fbody pan.
i have a total of 10 days minimum 6-10 hour working days. now we need a tune by ryne cms in murrieta and exhaust.
truck trans dipstick was a fail so ill be looking for a fbody dipstick .
the hawks tranny member needs a new hole slot to position the trans properly and centered.

Nice I'm doing the same thing to my 92 RS 5.3 4l60e out of my backyard, want to do as much as I can myself including wiring for the experience
