Help please
I have a 1989 camaro rs
about a month ago i was driving down the high way and pop! oil came out my exhaust and smoke everywhere. When i go to start the car everything has power but when i turn it over the temp shoots all the way up and nothing happens. Is the engine blown? could it just be a seal? any help would be great.

Re: Help please
Sounds like a total mechanical failure and not just a seal to me. What were the conditions at the time this happened? Speed, RPM, oil pressure, temp, etc.

When you first turn the key to start, the temp gauge should max out. This is the normal startup test of the gauge.
Sounds like you bent or broke an exhaust valve/spring. Pull your valve covers and look for anything broken and/or metal chunks under there.
