Re: NEED HELP

How long of a bit? If the bit is the same size as the hole, you will have a really hard time getting it out. You will have to drill the hole bigger and use a thin extend o magnet to get it out. Or some grease on the end a stick. if the motor is on a stand, flip the engine upside down and tap that area with a small hammer. Thats where the oil press sending unit goes right? maybe you could prime the oil system and it will shoot out like old faithful! heh. Prob going to have to drill it bigger tho. Good luck

Re: NEED HELP

That's THE MAIN oil passage for the whole engine.

It starts at the rear main cap register surface, and goes all the way to the hole there, where the oil pressure sending unit usually goes. There's a plug, same type as a freeze plug, ½" dia, about an inch above the cap surface.

The bit should presently be sitting on that plug.

Easiest way to get it out will be to simply flip the block over.

Re: NEED HELP

A magnet won't work because you have to lower it through about 7" of cast iron.

One post on one forum is usually enough. Don't be like the fake shoe and jewelry spammers that hit every single topic board.

Re: NEED HELP

Oh, BTW, get one of the SQUARE type of bolt extractors to pull the remains of that adapter pipe out of there. It'll come RIGHT out, being brass. No need for drilling at all.
