Need help with tpi

I have been on here for a while now but rarely post.
i have a 1986 trans am with a 5.7 block with a 5.0 heads and intake.
The original 5.0 was ruined and i got a 5.7 from an 87 full size van.
it has been over a year since i put the engine in and it has ran good, but last night when i left from college i noticed that the fuel pump didn't stop before i started the engine. The car ran good and when i got home the fuel pump still didn't shut off with the key so i pulled the battery. When i hooked it up today, the pump was off and turns on and off with the key now. But now with the key on the pump doesn't shut off and i can here fuel spraying in the intake. Can an injector fail open? OR any other ideas to check

Injectors usually short open. Also, your fuel pump relay is stuck. Hit the relay on the firewall and it should turn off. Change it

Re: Need help with tpi

I just tried it and it did turn off. Is it normal for these relays to go bad after only 5 to 6 months? I just replaced all three of the relays because of they were broke open and allowing moisture in.

Yes. I find that the connectors go bad as well. I've had the terminals corrode out. The reason you hear fuel spraying is that the injectors spray before running. It could also mean one or more is stuck. Ohm them out to determine that

No problem. They have quirks but they look cool and give great torque. I have a few of them.
