clutch not engaging

ok guys i just got my new motor running after an extrememly pain full summer...after the motor was running for a few minutes and i wanted to drive it around my court..so i push the clutch on and try to go into 1st..and it wont go..just wont do it...infact the car was starting to creep forward when i tried to put it into gear...

i rebuilt my tranny when i built a motor and when i put it in it went throught all the gears like butter...os i know its in the clutch..i used an alignment tool when i put the clutch in to get it right and obviously theres somthing not right....teh fluid in the clutch cylinder is full were it should be,,,it may be a little overfull actually...can i bleed the clutch system?...or does the tranny have to come back out?...i ****IN hope it doesnt lol

give me some good news guys

Rob

did you make sure the throw out bearing was in the right way? If it isnt you wont be able to get the car in gear, casue the clutch wouldnt be disengaging. you could also try bleeding the system some more, if there is air in there, the slave cylinder wotn be pushing the clutch fork far enough to dis/engauge the clutch

how do i bleed the clutch?...

the pedal doesnt feel the same as when i parked it before i did all the work....i can see the clutch fork moving...

when i put the TO bearing in i put the big flat side on the pressure plate...i mean it seems sensible to put the bigger surface on the side that rides on somthing...

Axle/Gears: Got those too...
Take the tranny out and check the throw out bearing. You did not install it right, even if you think you did. I made the same mistake once- it is pretty frustrating.

You can try to bleed the clutch. The bleeder screw is down by the bellhousing on the cylinder. I don't think that will solve your problem though.

My car did the same thing. Both of the clutch cylanders were toasted.

ok today i took it for a drive...i had my buddy push me up to like 10 mph and i slid it into 2nd...when i cam the the stop sign i tried to take it out of gear but it wouldnt come out...when i stopped it was still in 2nd but the car wasnt moving...i took off in 2nd and went into 3rd..again without using the clutch...came3 to a light tried to downshift into 2nd...wouldnt happen...i bliped the throttle to slid er into 2nd...

it wont go into gear from a stop..but if i get it rolling then put it into gear and come to a stop it wont stall out or move...

does that help at all?
