No disrespect intended but Summit Sells the same kit for:
MCH-4400 $94
Jeg's has it available for:
655-4400 $94
Both of course have free shipping at the moment as well. I would certaintly be interested if the price savings over purchasing them brand new would be greater.

No disrespect received, but Summit sells the part for $94.88, and is on backorder till 7/18 at least.
I'm saving folks 5 bucks and will ship asap for free too.
Can only give so much of a deal on brand new parts.
It's not like the part has depreciated in value as a used item.

i guess they say auto recommeded because of the slower alternator speed
with a stick, i think your idle is slightly higher
or you can compensate with a slightly higer idle
hence the reason for the 1-2hp diff between the 2 kits
(unless the water pump pulley is smaller too)
none the less
auto or standard it should be fine
not sure what size belt it would need
personally
i love under drive pulleys for:
the few extra ponies
better gas mileage
nice looking
draw back:
low alt outputs at idle,
could over heat or get hotter (i know debatable)
these are results i gathered from putting them on my 79 TA and her 90 V6 3.1
it was an awesome gain on the 3.1 (10 hp to a V6 is alot, 10hp on an 8, ehhhh debateable)
on my TA, i did get hotter (true adding a 4 core rad, and hi out water pump helped (additional $$) and output at idle sucked badly
but a 140 amp alt helped, not alot, but it helped.
i used to use the pulleys on her V6 cause it really help mileage on trips, and gives that extra power when passing on the highway.
i've also used a stock alternator pulley too, and the idle output wasn't as bad. i just find EFI cars way more sensitive to lower alt outputs (the ECM's like solid voltage)
i am trying to see if this kit needs a shorter belt, i spend some good $$ on my goodyear belt.

Yeah, I put the March pulley kit on my motor. Now I just need to know what belt to get now. I measured the stock one, and it is 95". After the new crank pulley and alt. pulley was installed, I put the stock belt on. It is very loose, so I tried to measure that slack, which is about 2" roughly, but that is with the belt tensioner all the way down too. So I'm guessing take away 2 or 3 more inches for that. I think I'd need a 90 or 91 inch belt. If anyone knows for sure, please chime in.

I actually found along enough string and ran it like a belt and I got 91". I bought a 91" belt and it seems to work fine so far. Next it getting rid of the smog pump and the A/C dummy pulley, so I'm going to have to drop another $30 on a belt again here in the near future. Oh well. Thanks though.
