Edelbrock RPM intake....
I was just wondering if anyone had the RPM intake on their carbed cars. This is going to be coupled with Vortec heads, part # 7116. these heads should be better than stock, but i wanted to know if anyone had any track or dyno numbers with the RPM intake. thanks

i've got the vortecs, and the rpm intake, however i've yet to get it down the track yet.. still gotta hook up the shifter linkage
But it's a pretty popular combination round these parts, specially coupled with an XE cam, Most of them breakinto the 12's fairly early in the tuning.... if the rest of the drivetrain holds up

A friend of mine's running an XR 270 HR10 cam in his car, with vortec heads, it's a Hydraulic roller, 218/224 dur @ 050, .495/.503
Get the springs with it.
It's a great cam, he drives it every day, it idles pretty civily, pulls over 15" of vacuum.
It certainly likes the 3.73 gears, but you will need a STRONG transmission, he's had bad luck with tranny's and it's assasinated every sub par part he's put behind it.
The car is very fast, It has very very good street manners, 2600-3000 stall converter is about ideal for it. you can problaby get away with a lower stall like 2400.
This motor puts out a hellatious amount of midrange torque. It's a daily driver, and pretty much untouchable
