MSD 6AL went out
i was just about home and the car just died. i tried to start it but nothing. i tried for quite a while too. every once in a while i would smell fuel...so i knew it had fuel. i let it sit for a while about 10 min. still nothing. i unplugged the msd and plugged in the stock ignition plugs and it started right up. i've only had the box for alittle ove a year....and less than 6000 miles. anyone know what msds' policy is for fixing items. i would like to continue using msd.

MSD repair/replace
Call Lou at Autotronic Controls (MSD) 915-857-5200. He can set you up on the repair/replace of your MSD box. All of their warrenty papers I've seen show 1 Year. My 6 Off-Road box went intermittent in way less than a year, and they took it back and replaced it with a whole new one with a very quick turn-around of about 3-4 days total. Ask what you need to do to expedite it if you need to (I had to overnight it to them ~$10), otherwise it goes in under normal priority which is ~10-12 days.

I shorted out my MSD Digital 6 box, and didnt want to wait to send it in, have it repaired and sent back, so I bought a 2nd one thinking i would still send in the first one.....Well i shorted the 2nd one out and had them both in a drawer for 3years!!!
I found them a few weeks ago, Sent them into MSD to be fixed assuming they were out of warrenty, but to my suprize they warrentied both and sent me 2 NEW Digital 6's...
They were pretty good to me, they have your box "in house" for 10 business days on average..

what i found when trying to take it out was that the power wire had come loose from its' holder and rested on a pulley. the pulley eat right through it. fixed the wire and resecured it. it works just fine now.

I have a 6AL that I removed a few years back because I was having hard start problems. I put the stock stuff back on and it runs perfect.
