Dwain, Have you heard from Miles regarding the response for the cover? Just wondering if he was aware of the numbers?? Perhaps he might be surprised! Again, THANKS,Dave.
I recieved an email from the vendor and TA Performance needs a used 9 bolt centersection (pumpkin) that is intact & has the cover so they can get measurements and make a prototype. It doesn't need the axle tubes, but the center parn needs to be intact. If anybody is local to TA Performance and has or knows where one is that could be donated...it would be a great help.
They are located at 16167 N. 81st Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
If your local and have one and need any further details of what they need just call TA Performance at 480-922-6807 and ask for Dave.
Thanks,

Originally posted by formul8!! I pre-loads the caps that support the bearings for the axles and differential. It keeps them from trying to exit the rear through the diff cover.
When the pinion turns, the ring gear and differential will start to shift towards the rear and puts stress on the bolts holding the caps in.
This is what causes broken ring gear teeth and axle bearing failure.
Thanks for the tip but $100 is too much for a 2 series rear. Plus I'd have to pay to ship it here. cut the axle tubes off, and pay to ship it to AZ.
I was hoping that someone generous in the Scottsdale area who supports our cause, might have one lying around and realize that a 2 series rear is worthless other than the spare axles and maybe the brakes if it has 89 up PBR's and cut the tubes off it and drop it off over at TA Performance for us so we could get this thing rolling. If I get real desperate...I'll go to one of the 2 local f body junkyards around me and talk them out of one cheap or trade some of my parts I'm never gonna sell for one. Then I'd still have to pay to ship it there. If it comes to that I guess I'll have to take one for the team. I can't do anything until this turnaround is over and I'm not working 10-12 hrs each night. That'll be 2-4 weeks.
If you got all 40 people on the list to put up 5 dollars for the cause or even that could later takin off the price of the finished product, that should be enough to get a rear and ship it to T/A
Dwain, Please count me in for a contribution on the shipping of a unit to Phoenix, wished I still lived in Tucson as Iwould run up there. Perhaps we could chip in and buy something in Phoenix and have it delivered to TA?????/ Let me know, Dave, Redbird87
I just want to tell everyone that being a Buick guy (TA Perf. builds a lot of buick motors and parts) I've bought a number of parts from TA Performance and it's all TOP NOTCH stuff! Dave and everybody that works the tech lines and customer service are great people to deal with! TA Performance RULES!

Hey,I called t/a and they still don't have a donor case. I do. I will be swaping my 2.77 9-bolt for a 3.42 9-bolt the end of next week. He needs the center section, cover and caps with bolts. I will torch cut the axle tubes off. He is going to call me next week to let me know if he has a case yet and if he does not i will ship him mine. It will probably be a bit of green from new jersey to arizona but I don't mind since it is for a good cause.

We could all send it to Draino via Paypal if required.
I recently installed a TA Performance cover on a Friends '93 Z28 10bolt. I must say, the cover looks really cool under the car. It is also a really nicely cast and machined piece.
Not yet, I have someone has a donor 9 bolt and is working on getting it ready to send to TA. I'll let you guys know what the shipping charge is once it is ready and I know a cost.
