One peice firebird air diverter from modern day muscle
I just installed my air diverter for my firebird. On both sides I had to cut off about an inch and a half of extra plastic, otherwise it would've stuck out. It was on the last bolt hole. I know that I ordered the right one. I don't have the three peice. At least I saved money by not going to the dealership, but it would be nice if the thirty dollar peice of plastic fit right.

At least you're one up on me. I had no idea which to buy, so I took a chance on the 3-piece. Bad choice, it's not going to fit at all. From Nova Scotia, it's not even worth it to ship it back.

I didn't realize it was a GM part, I thought it was made by that company. If the three peice doesn't fit, than just buy the one peice, it's not that bad to cut it off, but it breaks easily, so be careful. Other than that it fit tight, and four of the holes didn't line up. I just drilled new holes for two of them.
I saw the three peice at the junk yard, and I thought maybe you'd be able to bend it for the curve I needed, but your saying it didn't work for you.
I got an email back from them and they said there is three different ones, I thought there was two.

Re: One peice firebird air diverter from modern day muscle
If anyone knows for sure can they let me know if the updated design will bolt in. I'm mainly concerned about the center peice. At the local boneyard there was the updated design, I guess I can just measure the width, and see if just the middle section will bolt in. I'd have to say i'd never buy anything from these peices of crap again, he didn't respond to my second email, because he knows he's at fault. I was nice about it also, even though I shouldn't have been. He advertises his part as GM NOS, which it isn't otherwise it would've bolted right in. I also couldn't imagine that GM would use such cheap plastic that breaks when you breathe on it. The updated design I saw was more flexible plastic. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated.

Re: One peice firebird air diverter from modern day muscle
If anyone's interested, MDM just mailed me another diverter free of charge. I was very surprised, apparently there is three designs. Two one peice, and a three peice, I might not even use the one peice he mailed, because like I said the plastic breaks easily, and it seems to be the same type. I bought the middle peice from the three peice at a junk yard, but I have yet to bolt it in, and it is more flexible than the other design.
