Re: fiberglass whale tail spoiler

are you talking about the fiberglass 'aero-wing' spoiler?

if so i have one and highly recommend. got mine from classic industries mostly because they are local to me so no shipping costs.

I still want everything to look stock (without the weight) so no rice'r spoiler for this guy.

Re: fiberglass whale tail spoiler

The 4th gen style ones, are a little bigger, andhave a 3rd brake light, inset into the wing, instead of under it.

Mine is a duplicate of the original, but in fiberglass. Nothing says you HAVE to put the 3rd brake light housing under it.

Re: fiberglass whale tail spoiler

Ok, just so you know, the pic that I posted is what is known as a 'whale tail'. Not my cup-o-tea either just trying to help out.

The more you know... :insert cute NBC PSA music here:

If you don't have a third brake light there to begin with then there won't be one there when you mount the spoiler.

If you look at the ads on the top right of the page, (in the column next to the posts) you'll see an animated ad for an outfit called RamairHood.com. It shows that they sell the fiberglass GTA rear deck spoiler. (Although if you click on the link nothing is listed)

You might have trouble getting a non brake light spoiler since they weren't that common. I know that's not good for the 1986 models with the high mounted brake light.....

Re: fiberglass whale tail spoiler

This is the spoiler that i have.
I purchased it in 1993.
Motion Glass.
I would have to dig around for a phone number if they are still around.

Re: fiberglass whale tail spoiler

Shouldn't a 86 have the 3rd brake light, on the outside of the glass though? Is your hatch stock?

he did the same thing I did and swapped out the rear hatch glass for one that doesn't have the brake light mounted on it.
