Metro Moulded Parts T-Top Weather Stripping

I bought some of Metro's T-Top weather stripping (the body seals, both sides) from Summit Racing back in November '08 for $169.95. Well, I finally got ready to use 'em and when I did just a quick test fit, I was disappointed. First, they did not fit all that great. And second, the joint's or whatever you want to call them, where the individual sections of the seal are "welded" together are very poor quality. You can see in the pictures the excess material on a couple of the joints. You can also feel that these bad joints are "firmer" than the good ones, like there is a bunch of excess material on the inside where you can't see it.

Here are the pictures.

Now, for the record, I am not saying that you will have the same results with all Metro products, heck you might even get a nice set of T-Top seals from them. Maybe I just got stuck with a bad set. The reason I say that is because I am not going to do an exchange, so I don't really know if I might have had a chance to get a better set from Metro. I am just going to get my money back for these (minus the restocking fee 'cause it's been too long), and order me a set of GM ones. There seems to just be too many lackluster reviews of aftermarket T-Top seals, that in combination with the quality of the product I have sitting out there in my garage, doesn't inspire too much confidence. Hence, my decision to just suck it up and go GM for $100 more.

I went with GM, and am happy with them.

Yep, that seems to be the general consensus... I was/am too cheap to not at least try the aftermarket stuff first.

Looks like the restocking fee @ Summit is only going to be 10% for being past 90 days, so that's not too bad... $17+shipping to get it back there, I guess that's my fine for being an idiot, ...
