Probe Industries Pistons
In the process of building a 383 for my Z28. Already purchased crank and connecting rods, looking for Pistons now. Any of you guys have experience with Probe Pistons? I'm not looking to break the bank, but I want a good set of forged pistons. Was looking at Wiseco also. I haven't bought my heads yet either but I am looking at AFR 195s. Thanks

Re: Probe Industries Pistons
I have never heard of Probe Pistions but that doesnt meant they dont make a really good product. AFR makes some good heads but they really arent the be all end all...I have used AFR before and have recently (6 months ago) built a motor and used Dart Pro 1's.

Re: Probe Industries Pistons
Which AFR heads were you using, and how do you like the Dart pro 1's ? What are the major differences?

Re: Probe Industries Pistons
I have experience with prob pistons. They guys who put my shortblock together used them. I'm running them with AFR 195's too and 10.4:1 comp. About the only input that I can give you though is that they haven't broken yet, lol. That's the main criteria of a good piston right? One that doesn't break.

Re: Probe Industries Pistons
I have them in my motor as well. I only have 300 something miles on the car but it has been a hard 300 or so miles. All I can say is that nothing has broken yet.

Re: Probe Industries Pistons
I know a 2 guys (from forums) who helped design probe pistons. Really great pistons, a lot of supra owners I know are making between 400-600 to the wheels in 6 cylinder engines with absolutely no problems using these.
I say go for it and you will not regret it
