MAC 48692 Y-pipe from Hawks
Simply put, this is a well built piece. I purchased this pipe from Hawks Third gen a few months ago for a different project, but the cat-back never materialized that I needed for that car, so it went on my shelf.
Yesterday, I was working on a barn-find 85 T/A and the starter burned out on me. There was no way to get it off the car without dropping the y-pipe. Since it has the old 4 bolt flange cat on it, I went ahead and took the whole assembly off so that I could verify that a plugged cat wasn't one of my myriad problems and I figured it would be easy enough to just slap the MAC y-pipe on so that i can use it as a test piece while I get the car going.
Anyway, I can't believe how well this pipe fits the car. I have never had an aftermarket exhaust piece fit so well. Two thumbs up from me for this one!
The only thing I don't like about it is the clamp it comes with. I'd rather have a smooth, flat band clamp than the normal parts store crusher clamp.

My 3 inch Magnaflow aftermarket cat fits this thing perfectly as well! Two more thumbs up!

This bolts to the stock manifolds. Its got 2 1/2" pipes off of the manifold, then a nice "Y" transition into a 3" pipe
