Smeding Performance crate motors

Hey everyone. Anyone one have any feedback or personal experience with Smeding's crate motors. I'm kind of interested in the 383 shortblock that they are selling. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Anthony

My uncle bought the 383 crate engine they have (480 HP) for his 67 camaro. They aren't cheap, but man that is a gorgeous engine when it arrives on the crate. He's had it running for a few years now in his car and hasn't had any issues with it. He's won more trophy's with the car than I can count. Heres a youtube vid I have of it running if you'd like to hear how it sounds. Oh and he changed his mind about selling it, since thats what the vid mentions LOL.

Yes, my uncle bought the motor all assembled from Smedding Performance. I believe he added a few option and his is around 480 HP, but here is exactly how it came...

It's a 383, and the thing is a work of art. Runs excellent too. It's been in his camaro for years now and he drives VERY "spirited" most of the time lol. Never had an issue with it. Heres a shot of it in the car...

Based on seeing his car and how it performs, I would highly recommend them!

Re: Smeding Performance crate motors

I live here in Sac where Smeding is and had the chance to walk their facility.. they do quality work, dont have an assembly line of people just mounting parts. Each motor is built with "your" build sheet in front of them to make sure u get what u ordered. The motors look great (as u can see in previous pics) and run strong and forever, like superman

Seriously tho.... u cant go wrong with Smeding
