Re: $30 HID kit
Hey Rick,
I found these on Ebay there made from Auto Pal there the ones I was telling you about earlier that my buddy has.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/165mm...Q5fAccessories
Let me know if these would work?
Thanks. Tony.

Re: $30 HID kit
I just wish people (not you Tony) would make up their mind.
I see the same peple saying "Do not use fluted lenses for HIDs." Then they turn around and say "Use these...." and show a fluted lens. WTF?!?!?!

H4s are BOTH hi/lo.So basically your running 4 hi-beams & 2 lo-beams.
Then there's the guys who use H4 bulbs in both hi/lo beams.Thats 4 lo & 4 hi beams. Not what the camaro headlights were designed for.
The xenarc kit came with "fluted" lenses too.As good as they were with the stock xenarc housing. The HID lighting is better with the projector & the CLEAR lenses.

Re: $30 HID kit
Hey Rick,
I know I wouldnt want to use that high and lo-beams bulb. I just want the housing cause im getting this hid lights that mu buddy is selling me for cheap. The reason he's selling his camaro and the housings he has now there those dimond cut which I hate on our cars to flashy for my taste. There hid's with an adapter that he mounts on the fender wall or so.
Thanks. Tony.

Re: $30 HID kit
He asked specifically where to get autopal housings. I gave him the link. What dont you understand about that? It wasnt an answer to any question you asked. When somebody quotes somebody in a post its generally thought that those 2 people are in direct conversation. Its pretty standard etiquette....
Your options are:
1.HID's with e-code housing, no projector
2.HID's with a projector and a clear housing
3.H4 upgrade which consists of: e-code housing, H4 bulbs, with or without a wiring harness depending upon if you go with a stock wattage bulb or not. With this option, you really should opt for a harness regardless.
Do you understand?

Re: $30 HID kit
so would the ebay kit be able to take the heat of the HID kit? and does anyone know if it comes with a wiring harness? or it just uses the stock harness from the sealed beams? Also i have heard great things about the DDM HID kits, plus they come with a lifetime warranty depending on what kit you buy

Re: $30 HID kit
The H4 bulb can be either high only, low only or you can buy it in a high/low version combo in any HID kit.

Re: $30 HID kit
I bought the DDM Tuning HID kit that the OP linked to. It is outstanding. I paid more because I bought upgrades like H4, 55w and hi/lo.
I installed them in IPF H4 E code housings (non f-body) in my Wrangler. Again, I bought the H4 hi/low 55w 6000K HID kit ($79) and I dropped my jaw when I fired them up. The output is awesome.
You do not need an upgraded wire harness either as it comes completely pre-wired and wire loomed too. Just hook up positive and negative to your battery and connect the mating turn on wires to one of your existing headlight connectors. Plug and play if you have H4 housings and bulbs already.
The 6000K output at 55w is almost pure white, just the slightest hint of blue. The higher wattage washes out some of the 6000K color. If you want visible blue in a 55w kit buy the 8000K color.
Here is a link with many, many pictures of the 55w 6000K H4 DDM kit, again non f-body.
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/h-...tj-wow-842999/
The new digital ballasts that come with the DDM kit are really, really small. Maybe 3"x4" and 1/2" thick. Mountable anywhere. DDM's customer service is impeccable too. Highly recommended for economical HID systems.

Re: $30 HID kit
All this input about the HID's and Housings is very useful information they should make a sticky thread or so. About the best HID kits in the market and Housings in the market that is available to the public. It would be a very helpful thread for everyone like myself.

im looking at the DDM kit for my Iroc STOCK fog lamps. if i get the 3000k, 35w kit with 880 bulbs, I shouldnt have any problems right? it shows a Harness with dual in/dual out for an option Will I need that? thanks!

Re: $30 HID kit
I didn't read the whole thread, but I have DDM Tuning lights on my Harley. I have the 35W 4500k for the lows and 55W 5000 for the brights.
I am extremely happy with them and have been on for about 3 years now. The lows are so good I rarely switch to my brights.
The ballast are in the stock, non HID housings and work great. Only time i get flashed is the rare times my wife rides with me, which aims the headlights up too much.
I will be doing the exact same setup on my Camaro when I get around to it, except I will use the 5000k for low/highs.
One more thing: 5000k looks about as pure white as I can imagine, but it really makes blues and whites really pop out (road markers, reflective tape, etc)

Re: $30 HID kit
Actually they are set up for H4 bulbs. I know it states "sealed beam" for some reason and it doesn't state the H4 bulb on their website but when I got a set of these, the were set up for H4 bulbs and also state "for off road use only". Hope this helps alleviate any confusion.

Re: $30 HID kit
Also, overall opinion from everyone (who has them); is the DDM HID kits decent or just okay? I know that you generally get what you pay for, but I figured I'd check. I have seen where a couple of you guys give the DDM kits a thumbs up, just wondering if anyone had a bad experience with them or not.
