Sweet Deal
Well at least I think it is.....
I work for a chevrolet dealership and just snagged what I think was a pretty darn good deal. Just picked up a 1988 Gunmetal (Med Gray) Iroc-z TPI 350 w/tops for $500. Yes I said $500. The car is mechanically sound (needs new valve seals only) and the interior is in pretty good shape, just needs a really good cleaning. It needs 1 new fender. The rest of the car only has surface rust which all should be easily repairable.
I'm pretty sure this car has almost every option that was offered for 1988. 4 wheel disc brakes, posi rear end, 16in wheels, power everything incl/seats, delco bose radio, oil cooler and much much more.
So far it just needs a good tune-up and new muffler. All fluids are clean and it appears to have been through routine oil changes. Just ordered the new fender and I already have 2 brand new doors laying in my basement. Slap those on and give her a good paint job, get the interior steam cleaned and it will be one hell of a car for $500. Sometimes its good to be in the automotive buisness

What do you guys think? This is my 2nd thirdgen.
(sorry if wrong board, could not decide which one to post this on)

Welcome to the boards ,
Great deal 500 for a sound vehicle isnt bad at all. I hate to burst your bubble but if the motor is the original one from factory it is a 305, unfourtantly GM didn't put a 350 in a t'top or convertible fbody

Thanks for the comments guys. So far so good with the car. Had to change the muffler today and started getting her sanded. Hopefully the aftermarket fender will be in by next week. Then I can get the entire car in primer and painted shortly after. Next week it will be getting a full tune-up and couple new engine parts/mods from summit racing.
And yes, GM did make 350 T-Top F-body cars. I'm sure there are a couple people around these boards that have them from the factory. Also if you look at the RPO list I posted you can see the options the car came with.
Oh also! She clamed her first 3 kills today and yesterday. The first kill was a late model Honda Civic w/turbo and the second kill was some late model Audi and the 3rd was a pre-planned friendly drag race between me and my buddies 91 305 5speed Camaro.
As you can tell I am EXTREMELY happy with the car and for the price I cant complain about anything. I love having good pursuasive techincs against my managers to make them sell me stuff for much cheaper then they should
I'll get pics up soon.

The owner owed me... I detail for them and I did a couple cars for free one time. So we made this deal. The day it was traded in I bought it.
As far as the interior. Its not completely mint, but pretty close to it. I've spent a lot of time steam cleaning, and the driver seat has one small rip on the side.
As far as rust... You can't really see it in the pictures, but the fenders and quarters have surface rust that I have for the most part repaired already. I'm still gonna install 2 new fenders anyways just to be safe. The drivers side has a dent near the turn signal, so that has to be replaced.

My car is a Factory 350/T-top car.
I think that after 89, no Camaros had that combo, and very few birds....maybe just the GTA's. Not sure on the poncho info. Pretty sure about the bowties.
No 350/T5's of course. Ever
...except my friends uncle who got one of the test cars back in 86. He knew a guy at GM.....yada yada......
