I still have my Jersey blues on... even people from NJ do a double take on the plate... i dont think the new yellow and white goes with the red and grey... the blue looks nice and gives it that patriotic look hehehe! Also they are the original plates... i drove around for about 2 days with it off, and went past a few cops with it off... only one problem.. i forgot i had it off!! That would explain the constant tailing of my car... the CAMARO in the front looks WAY better then the plates.. maybe ill just get custom plates that say CAMARO there for i really cant get in trouble.. hehehe

whats exactly in the truck? is it just lowerd? seeing how the rest of your cars are fast, i figured the truck has to haul!! I want a new little silvarado with 2wd, step side short bed, reg cab, and the Caddy 6.0 motor! and then ls6 cam and head swap... ooooooo yea and a 6spd... then you get the smaller SS Silvarado concept with 395 hp... Makes a lightnig look like static electricity.

I have gone about 2 years with no front plate and the only times I have been bothered about it is when I put it in the windshield. I think it reminds the cops that it isn't displayed properly. I never got a ticket for it though.
The holes were never drilled in my bumper in the first place.
When a cop told me I improperly displayed my plate, he walked to the front of my car and looked around and told me that there was no spot for a plate. He let it go right there.
I also got accused of having a tinted license plate cover.

License Plate Relocation Bracket
Wanted you all to know that I supply an aluminum L shaped bracket with neoprene/brass inserts that enable you to attach your front plate to the lower side of your spoiler/front fascia and eliminate the need to drill into the front of your car. On some 3rd Gen F-Bodies, you can use the existing bolts. On others, you can install the inserts into the polyurethane and attach the plate.
Like all of you, I hate posting a front plate on any car. Seems that the automotive dealers agree as they don't show plates in most of their commercials! But, tickets can be expensive, and getting pulled over after a few beers is no fun as well.
So, I sell these online via Ebay and my web site. Check out my web-site if you are interested: www.tandaperformance.com
There is a guy out there selling similar brackets for $30 and up. I will ship these via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation to anywhere in the lower 48, Hawaii and Canada for $19.99.
If you are interested, visit my site.
Regards

Now my liscense plate is is hanging on by one bracket so its vertical at the moment. The front plate refuses to stay in place because of the pointed nose.
Now I have a legitimate excuse not to have one.

i have a simple solution (for me)
my texas inspection will expire this december.
before it does, im going to visit my parents in south carolina.
register my car in SC..
no inspections
no emmissions
no front plate.
i will then drive back here.
then i can drive around here with no front plate, and a nasty engine...

i think our camaros atleast look OK with a plate on it....
the birds however will always look ugly with it... the plates are too tall, and theres no flat space on the bird..
at least we have a grill to set it into.

Ok, here is my plan. I'm going to start by moving the plate down first. Then each day I'll cut like 2mm off, a lil bit from the bottom and a lil bit from the top and a lil bit from the sides.
One way or another that front plate is not going to appear so big.

Yeah that was a stupid idea. When I get the gfx put on I'm just going to put the plate in the window and if I get pulled over I'm just going to tell them I am missing a bracket and it won't stay on.

And as for front plates.... not required here in South Carolina either. No inspections, and if there are emissions laws, they're not enforced. Plus we only have two months of winther here in Charleston....

d00ds technically you dont have to live in florida to not have to have front plates, you just have to be registered in florida. Its complicated but when your int he military and you owna house in florida, where ever you move you only need rear plates. We've never been hastled about it once. See if your friend will add you to registration in florida or something d00ds.

As long as someone you know lives in Florida, and you can use thier address, you can get a license plate........You need to present a title and insurance along with a FL driver's license.......
Then you can get plates, no problems....

Isn't there like a registration period where if you move to another state and that you have to register your vehicle in the new state within a certain amount of time.
If thats not the case, then I'm going to try and keep my car registered at my mom's address (no emmissions testing in the area).

I am in WA (car is in CA) and I dont run a plate, never got crap for it. Also the camaro does not look like it is ment for a plate, so if I get pulled over I just say "I didnt know you could put a front plate on these cars, the car was like that when I bought it".
Also you could put in the windshield.

Haha, my bad. I was doing searchs on a nice front plate bracket that I'd seen and I didn't realise how old the thread was. I know I probably won't get away with it forever and wanted to have a backup plan ready.

I've been cited for not having a front plate--TWICE! It's one of those violations that the police use just so they have an excuse to pull you over.
It's only a "fix-it" ticket, and it's not expensive, but it's a pain because you've gotta take the car to a specific place to have some "officer" certify that your car now has a front plate! UGH!
So since the front of the car has the holes in it now anyway, I don't bother removing the plate anymore. Besides, it comes in handy when some idiot backs into the front of the car when parallel parking, lol. And especially when they LEAVE their car parked against mine!
The seatbelt law is there for just the same reason. Ask me how I know about that one, lol--and I HAD my seatbelt ON!!! But I fought that one in court(against the citing officer), and I WON!!! It's only thier OPINION that they THOUGHT they didn't see you wearing it. And that's where the unconstitutionality of the law lies. So it's bullsh!t, and it's fightable.
But if you get a Protem, transfer out to a courtroom with a REAL judge! Protems are only looking to convict you! They don't care about giving you a fair trial.
Sorry for the rant. That's another topic, I know. But now I'm all worked up, lol!

JK.
Yeah don't put it in your window. Every time I put it in my window I got harassed. I think it reminded them that it was improperly mounted/placed. From now on it sits under my seat or under a floor mat or something and nobody says a word.

I love Sask (Canada)... we are supposed to have plates up front here, but no one cares, lol.
My cousin runs all the time without one, like almost everyone else here, and I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it.

Plate in the windshield = getting scalped if you are in an accident. No thanks.
I just don't run one for now, and when/if I'm ever forced to put one on I will install it on the airdam. I've been told by a TX cop that it's legal on the airdam by the definition of the law...even if it's not in tune with the law's intent.

The front plate law is also in South Dakota, A friend of mine has a 2000 Camaro SS and gets away with it but I have known other people to get fines for it, nothing expensive. It does take away from the look of the front end but after ahwhile you just have to let it go unless you plan to become the Governor and try to have the law changed but you would have to come up with a good reason not to have them because saying my Camaros front end doesnt look as good with the front plate aint going to cut it, and since they have our plates made by Prisoners they make a pretty good profit on them.

I got stopped 3 times in one weekend for no front plate, 1 cop even told me "these cars look bad with the plate on the front".
I decided it's not worth the hassle even after i got my car repainted last spring, i almost cried when i had to put the bracket on.

Scanned my front license plate, reduced it 20%, printed it on a transparency, made a plate just the size of my center piece in the IROC grille, and made a plate to fit just exactly in this spot. Still have the license but it is tucked back in and actually looks decent.

Thing is the cops will save the front plate thing for when they want to know what your up to. If your 100% legal all the time and don't mind being an open target to get pulled over, run with out one.
State troopers gets real pissy about it though. I was told on my 80 camaro that it didn't matter if I had to drill holes and bolt one down. It had to be on the front bumper.
I don't like to give cops any excuse to pull me over. License plate lights is another one they save for a rainy day.
And yep in Ohio and most state a front plate is mandatory. You can run without it. if you don't mind being a target for a nosy cop with nothing better to do then harass some punk in a sports car.
