OH MY G<x>OD... I definitely didn't expect to see that...

That's gotta hurt bro... Don't shrug it off, definitely try as hard as you can a.) to take legal action and b.) try to get some insurance compensation....

Just wanted to post my condolences, & let u know that I feel for ya! At least, with this type of vandalism I think u could rule out pranksters. It seems u've got some serious enemies & it may help narrow the field of suspects down a bit. Yule be in my prayers brother!

The locking gas caps aren't all that safe. I know. I had to break mine one day when I was 50 miles away from home, on empty, and without my key! A screwdriver and about 10 seconds and they're open.

I drove my parents '79 Vette to highschool one day back in '97 only to come back to it and see the gascap off and a Sprite bottle sitting on the back bumper.... No problems have arisen from it, but still, pissed me off.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune man, THAT SUCKS!

I've had my sh*t vandalised so much that I have virtually no trust in people anymore.

My '90 Beretta got the shaving cream treatment, 3 months after new paint, as well as the shaving cream CAN scratchs on the hood. Eggs and Paintball. Someone shot my mother's '96 Yukon SLT w/ a _BB_ gun while it was in the garage, just with the garage door open. We had 2 of our rear view side mirrors cracked one night. Someone always winds up stealing my $2 chrome valve stem caps.

It sucks - My parents thought that moving to an upscale neighborhood was a good idea.... Nice environment, houses, etc.... Nah, people just come through and mess up people's things...

Just today, I come out to my car, only to see dried spit all over my windshield... TOTALLY UNPROVOKED.
ARGH

I've said it before and I'll say it again, PEOPLE SUCK!

i'm still pretty mad about this.

it looks like we thirdgenners are going to have to band together to help each other out in keeping our cars looking nice, and in good condition.

Just a guess, but this looks like a jealous boyfriend or ex girlfriend or something. I don't think some kids starting trouble would be like "Hey, wanna go blow up a car?". If thats the case, you should have a pretty good idea who it is and just report it to the right people, good luck to you man.

Well first off, i would like to thank anyone for the kind words, I'll find out from the insurance company on Saturday, When i get word from them, i will let you guys know.....

Once again, i really appreciate the fact that some of you guys are willing to help out......I'll keep you posted....This reminds me why i visit this site daily..

I'm gonna have to empty the gas tank, just in case, any sugar was put in the tank.......

The sad part to the whole story is the fact that i didn't **** anyone off, even with the new paint, mods, etc......I don't go around showing off my car and acting cockly......

I'm afraid they might come back to finish their fooled job, or cause any other damage...

First i gotta get a tire and move this out of my apartment complex.....

Can anyone tell me how to empty the gas out of my car safely..??

Once again, appreciate all the support, it's been a LOOONNNGGG day....

first thing that came to my mind would be to syphon it out, or use some sort of sucking pump, or my other thought of using the fuel pump to pump it out.

i searched and found a thread or two like this

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...drain+gas+tank

something that caught my eye was disconnecting the fuel filter, and pumping it out that way, but it does point out that it might spray, so if you control it somehow, have the car high in the air, it should work. syphoning might be easier and less messy though, not sure.

i went and bought a manual fluid transfer gun

looks like a grease gun, i bought mine from a john deere dealer, cost me about 12 bucks. i use it for filling the 5 speed transmissions on my red camaro, and my s10 pickup.

get a long enough piece of clear plastic tubing, you could use that for emptying a gas tank.

Yeah, I would syphon it out myself. Take less time and then maybe run it out with the fuel pump.

I am sorry to hear that man. The sorry low down person that did that is just jealous that he/she doesn't have nice things in their lives. I had some vandalism to my car in an apartment complex and I went and raised ****. Shortly after that they started to up security. I asked the cops to dust for finger prints on the car and they said "well we won't be able to get any". I foolishly just took that. I had full coverage thank ***. My two cents would be to DEMAND that they dust for prints now. Sorry again man!

Thats horrible!! And right after you did the paint and everything too!! Whoever did that is evil!! They will get whats comming to them soon. Sorry this happened!!!

I recommend you point some cameras at your car from now on. Go on Ebay and search for the X2 cams, buy the kit (under $100) and mount them in odd areas (tree, building, etc) aiming at your car. They are 2.4ghz wireless color with sound and the receiver uses regular yellow/red/white A/V cables so you can watch your car on your TV or PC and also record with a VCR.

Cant believe what people do these days.

I'm very sorry about your car man. See I wrecked My '86 Iroc back a few months ago and it messed it up really bad (lots of frame damage). If not for fixing my own car with little to no money (thank *** for grandparents) I bet this person doesnt know what car work is about, if he did he might have a little bit more respect. If I were you though I would fix it and get a nice alarm system, vid cam, and a nice .44 magnum. Even though my car is wrecked I still love it like it was my first born child, in my living room a window is looking onto my carport and i sleep on the couch in the living room to make sure its safe, but we don't have much of this stuff up here north alabama. But I have got treats to mess it up.

Like I said us f-body owners have to band together in times of need and i think this is a great thing everyone willing to help you.

It was a beautiful car and it still is, and im sure it will once be just a great as it did before.

-Jensen

I may not be too big a fan of your car, but my condolences none the less. You put alot of work into your ride, only to have fear and anger replace your pride. I've been there before...dealing with insurance about vandalism. Twice in fact.

There is an addition you can make to most "Liability Only" insuarance policies. It's called theft and vandalism. Costs about 6 or 7 extra bucks a month and will cover everything in your pictures. Just an idea for all you scared third-genners out there. Also, the locking gas-cap thing is a must - it keeps most punks from even trying.

I'm sorry bro, Rotten punk asses. Do you know anyone that would want to hurt you? I don't think the guy(s) would be to old as, they botched it. (thank ***) But I don't think they'd be too young either. Prob. 13-30 Years old. And I hope you didnt smear those prints when you picked them up.

Wow man, that really blows.

I don't know how someone can do that to someone's car that they obviously put a lot of time, money, and effort into. I couldn't even mess with a ricers car. I may not like it, but he does and he worked hard on it.

Hopefully you can get the insurance to cover it. And then get a place to park it safely. Good luck.

that sux bro. i know how ya feel. i had my car keyed 2 yrs ago.
if anybody reads this and recalls seeing one theres a locking gas cap that bolts to the body. its a race car style cover. kinda like the mitsubitishi eclipse has.
let that dude try and get into that thing.
hope everything works out for ya.

Well first off let me thank everyone again.....It's the support like this that makes me come to this site, i really really appreciate

Well to those that inquired or were asking about a paypal.com

Well the Insurance company as usual crapped out on me, said that since i didn't have theft & vandalism it wouldn't be covered....... ......They did however say that i could apply a $75 credit to my next insurance payment......This was after i threatened to drop my coverage and switch to another company, which i still plan on doing after I get that credit, because Geico offers the theft & vandalism coverage......

So due to this the camaro will be sitting for at least another week, gonna jack the car up on the flat tire in order to somewhat save the rim......then drain the gas tank and let the car sit till i can afford to replace the broken parts, I probally won't get it painted right away though.....

For empting the gas tank, should i just disconnect the fuel filter and then turn the key forward to activate the gas tank, and just let me spray out, hopefully getting rid of anything they might have put in there???

Thanks again to everyone for the support......

not only that but if there are some debris in the tank would the get trapped in the strainer if the pump picked it up? then you would have a problem you are trying to prevent.

Okay, after some editing, the thread is back.

I know he did not ask anyone to donate anything, but I locked it because I don't want someone's car to get keyed and then have them post on here asking for money. If people want to help, then they can contact Flyin via PM or email.

Thanks, and best of luck Flyin

umm as to what you should do:

is the actual gas tank or filler neck damaged in anyway?

if not, then clean off the area where the paint/melted door is, id primer it or somthing for now, since it is bare metal.

put a new tire on of course, and check that rim for damage.. it might be gone....

as for draining it... my friend had to drain the tank on his LS1 car one time.. to do it, i just disconnected the line going to the fuel filter and used the pump. athough its a PITA with a LS1 car, since if it doesnt see the fuel pressure, after about 3-4 secs, it shuts the pump off.. then i had to turn the key off and back on again.... atleast you can just turn the key on and the pump will stay on..lol..

drain the tank, change the fuel filter, clean off the black crud, change the tire( + rim?), or put the spare on, and drive it to work.

Man, I cant believe that anyone would do that in real life. I was mad cuz i got my blackouts stolen for the 3rd time last week, but that is one thing to steal stuff off someones car, however this guy tried to BLOW YOUR CAR UP.

can you immagine being woken up to a explosion and watching your car burn to the ground. I'm scared that this person isnt done with your car. I think if they get away with it this time they are coming back. I would say you have to get a camera, or a security guard for your car

I love your car and i feel for ya man

I doubt there is much of anything in your tank but if there is hopefully your pump filter or the gas line filter will keep it out of your fuel injection.
