Here's some pics from a cruise I went on 11/9/2003 with my old car club. Some of you guys wanted pics from the side so I asked my friend to hook me up while a local photographer for a magazine did a photoshoot of me next to a Syclone. Here they are:
Still not happy with the stance .. at all...

Car is still looking sweet, what's up next on the modification plan???
What do i have to do to join?.... :lala: :lala: :lala:
Leave it up to me to notice little details, but have you thought about getting rid of the amber on the car? The amber doesn't look bad it goes with the sunset orange, just wondering what the clear/red would look like......

Right now (2006) my mods I'm working on are in this order:
1. T56 swap - in the middle of this as we speak!! Can't wait to be rowing through the gears on this one!!
2. Interior - Its been completely gutted and put back together, all panels painted black, new black carpet. 4th gen dash on hold.
3. Rearend - having the stock 10 bolt rebuilt with a used '00 SS posi and 4.10 gears, better match for T56! Also LS1 brakes!
4. Brakes - Planning on doing the C5 fronts and LS1 rears, all steel lines too
5. Exhaust - gave up on the SLP w/ MAC Y-pipe madness, going for a set of Hooker Shorty's!
6. Power Boost! - This is a big one, all at one time - new aeromotive fuel system, singleplane EFI, blower cam, and standalone ECM.

Beautiful. With the center section painted gunmetal or black, I think they'd look great on my white GTA. Who did you get them from and did you have to use spacers?

I got them from www.sportruck.com shipped to my door. They do not require spacers as Boyd will make them to your specification. You can specify diameter (up to 22" I think), width (up to 13"), offset and backspacing and of course, bolt pattern. Boyd will pretty much do whatever you want them to. And its not super expensive either. These wheels were $1600 shipped to my door.
As for the amber, I really hate it. It does kind of go with the orange, but I just have this hate for the color amber. I will be taking it to my friends bodyshop sometime in the future to have the sidemarkers shaved (along with other things). I plan to install different sidemarkers in a different location, but they will be clear. As for the taillights, I have another set I've been working on that does not have any amber. But instead of painting the amber section red, I went completely crazy and totally changed the configuration of the taillights to accomidate the sequential turn signals I have planned. I'm still finishing up my plans for the crazy front end mods and sequential front signals before I do anything about the amber or the body. Currently I have another front clip on the side that I'm hacking up to accomidate the V-Mount front intercooler I have planned.
So many plans ... so little time. Thanks for the compliments guys!

Its an Unlimited Products 2.5" glass cowl with Mr Gasket starlock pins. (EDIT after the fact)
Thanks for the compliments guys! Cant wait to get pics of it with the suspension, brakes, and bodymods done. And of course a clean engine so you can get some pics of the engine (its sooo dirty right now I'm shame).

Hey Crazy, could you elaborate on "smoothing the GFX" and "messing with the door handles"? I was also wondering what type of h4 enclosures those are...

I know this may sound a lil bad to some, but I grew up around imports and when I see cars like this it almost looks to me like hot rodders are picking and choosing the bests of the import tuning genre. It's like the best of both worlds. Your car is beatiful, the low profile tires look much sportier than a big fatty. The color is awesome, you really have good taste.

Car: too many ...
Hey thanks for the good words guys. No worries about bringing this post back from the dead, this is the thread I made to follow the build of the car (links to my cars builds are in my sig). Sad to admit but right now there has not been much progress on the car because I've been busy with other projects (not car related). But I do have alot of things in the works or planned in the future, I'll try to answer your guys questions.
The current update on the car as of June 2006 is its still in the middle of a T56 swap. Its been in the middle of a T56 swap for months now, moving slow on that one. I have decided that the 18" Boyds will be coming off the car soon, I'll be using them on a different car. This is mainly because I just want to change the look, but partly because there is a clone of my car on the boards and I just want to be different. I'll be removing the Boyds and a set of '98 SS 4th gen wheels will be going on. Give me a few months and I should have the T56 swap done. SS wheels on, and I'll get you guys ALOT of good pics.
Now the questions, Smoothing the body lines would include all GFX mounting points, the front clip, front fenders, and rear bumper lines. Alot of people that try this end up with cracks but I'm going to be using tricks I learned from the truck scene to re-inforce everything from behind. Another special part of this is I won't be using the stock GFX. The end result will look stock at first glance but they will be custom made with different material that is not flexable. I'm not a fan of the stock door handles because they are not smooth with the body. I want handles that are flush, similar to the older full size GM trucks (88-98 1500 silverado, etc). I'm still looking into what handles I want to use. The 4th gen dash and stuff, yeah I want to go with the firebird dash because of those vents. I plan to use the dash, console, and door handles from a 99 Firebird LS1. I have some of the parts already, still working on getting the rest. But it will be a while before I try to do the 4th gen conversion on this car. The taillights, I'll get some better pics of these taillights, these are just my ghetto ones. I used 91-92 grid lights and painted all the squares red except for the top reverse lights squares (so turns are all red and bottom two blocks of reverse are red). Then I knocked out the reverse light portion of the backing and I'm running LED's for reverse lights in that upper square only. The "good stuff" is this other set I'm working on where I used 4 sets of lights to make my own custom set. I cut em all up and mixed matched the pieces I wanted. Its the same overall style of light but I wanted a different configuration of blake and turn signal lighting. You can see the style I want on the concept drawing DevianB made for me. For a long time I was stumped on this mod because I couldnt find a way to get the edges of the lights clear. But recently I think I've come up with a solution, it won't be as cool as my original idea but it should work.
Last thing, just gonna comment on what TheMutt said. Alot of people know I'm a fan of the GT style and this is my main drive when building this car. I want everything I love about GT form and function to be reflected on this Camaro. Thats one of the reasons I'm so interested in suspension and stuff, I really want this car to handle. I'm not alone on this type of build, its very similar to the "Pro-Touring" thing going on these days except I'm also focusing on style. Glad some of you guys enjoy the look! I really wish I had more time and money to dedicate to building this car, makes me sick sometimes to see the car and see how much I have not completed yet.
Thanks again everyone, appreciate the comments.

Are you thinking like the flush mounted corvette handles? Or something more radical?

Car: too many ...
Don't worry guys, I won't be getting rid of the Boyds, they'll just be on a different car (my green IROC-Z). I had been considering the idea for a while, but recently I picked up another project car and it has the 98 SS wheels, kinda wanna see what they look like on the 91Z.
I had considered buying another set of billet wheels, even decided on the style and sizes but its just too much money right now. There's too much other stuff on the car I need to get done, I've been slacking hardcore. I think once I get some stuff done with the drivetrain and brakes then I might look into appearance mods again.
I'm still not sure about the handles, as long as its flush and dosn't stand out too much then it'll be cool with me. I would just have them shaved but its majorly illegal in this state. I got a message with some info on looking into the handles on the late 90's Cadillac's, gonna look into that. If not the handles on the older fullsize trucks would work, just maybe a little big for a Camaro. We'll see what happens ...
I don't have any new pics of what the interior looks like. Its actually kinda empty right now, no seats or anything. I think there's a few pics of what it used to look like. When I first got the car I made a thread on it, there's a link to that thread on the first post of this thread. Check that one out, I got an interior shot in there. The old interior wasn't that crazy, it was a stock 91 Z28 red interior with the red leather seats, only mods were the tach, the guages, the MSD 6BTM stuff, the shift ****, and the speaker enclosures on the doors (dual 5 and 1/4 enclosures). Since then I've changed it, converted all the panels to black (painted em), change the carpet to black, even got a headliner and re-did it black. Just need to change the door panels and then put in some seats and I can drive it again. I had planned to do a 4th gen interior conversion but I decided not to do it because I didnt have the correct dash I wanted (I have a 4th gen Camaro dash, I wanted to use a 4th gen Firebird dash). One good thing, while the car was gutted I re-did the wiring and wired the car up for sounds and the dual rear battery mount. Eventually it'll get there ....

The pass seat and the rear seats are in perf condition but the drivers seat got jacked when the dog got rowdy and jumped into the car, big paw print got ripped into the seat backing. If there's one thing specific to a red interior that people might be interested in I think its the door speaker enclosures. I have never seen them on any other Camaro in any other color and I dont know who made them. But its a perfect match to the red door panels and it appears to be designed for a 3rd gen (fits perfect). I've considered painting them but they're covered in the same material as the stock door panels, so not sure if they are paintable ...
