ABS Headliner Droops Above Mirror...
I just installed an aftermarket ABS headliner. This who have done it know that most (all?) of these come without the front clips that were on the original headliner, and that the instructions say they are not needed.
My install went ok, except above the rear view mirror, the ABS is bent (it isn't cracked or anything like that) so the headliner is pulled away from the roof.
Anybody know what I did wrong?
Thanks.
Al

Im not sure if you're talking about the t-top or hardtop headliner, but I installed a t-top one on this spring w/o and sagging.
You say that the plastic is bent, so did you remember to leave it out unfolded for a good day...maybe 2 so it would take its original shape?
Since they roll them up when they ship them, the plastic needs to be layed flat for awhile b4 it takes shape again.
They are right however, that you do not need the plastic clips, the only problem I ran into was that the cutout for the dome light was not in the proper place, and I had to cut more of the plastic away, I also found that the dome light supports alot of the headliner, so make sure that's on tight

Thanks for the reply...it's for a hard top.
Yes, I left it flat for a couple of days in some pretty warm weather.
Interesting comment about the dome light, I was actually wondering if I had pushed it too high and made it too tight. Also, the screws for the sun visors seemed to be off slightly, so maybe that's it.
Anyone else had this problem?

I removed the dome lamp, and left out the visor screws, but still had a droop.
Then I tried a variety of adhesives (from epoxy to urethane), none of which held very well.
Fortunately, the colour is dark graphite, so I ended up screwing three trim screws with washers into the doubler bar that runs across the front of the roof. One dead centre, the others hidden under the visors when they are up.
It worked so well, that nobody sees them (except me) unless I point it out.

when i got my abs liner it was folded down the middle so it would not lay out avane after week. so i set it so all the weight was on the centers, suported the middle only the outer end were hanging. this straightened it out in a day, mine is a t top but i would guess it would work for hardtop too.
