Quick question

What the heck does "wet sanding" mean ? I see mentioned in articles in the tech section but nobody thought about explaining what that means! hehe Do you pour water over the area that's being sanded... do you soak the sandpaper in water ... do you spray WD40... what ? hehe Thanx

You sand useing water at the same time usaly you let the water run on the part and the sand paper at the same time or just wet the paper and what ever you are sanding it keeps the sanded particals off of what you are sanding on makes the job a little esier and your paper will last longer but you have to use wet sanding paper otherwise the water will mess the paper up.

There is sand paper made for wet sanding,, you'll need this (it specifies on the packaging). To wet sand you grab a bucket of water (or hose if you want) and sand to your hearts content keeping the area where sanding wet and rinsing clean every so often. As probably explained in the tech article,, you usually do this between color coats w/a fine grit(1000-1500) paper to reduce the 'orange peel' effect or for final sanding on clear coat b 4 buffing for a more smoothe shine.
