Radiator Hoses

Hey

Im swaping 5.7 TPI into a car that had 2.8 V6 and I want to have
those nice looking stainless/chrome hoses...
My question is what to buy..?
I dont have old ones to compare so I really dont know what I need...
Maybe there are some kits..?
Also I will be not using A/C, only normaln cold/hot air...

Re: Radiator Hoses

if you can, check out summit and jegs. they both have the stainless corrugated radiator hoses. they come as a straight piece of varying length and you can bend them to almost any shape you need, then cut to fit. they had the rubber clamps to connect them to the radiator and engine, and stainless sleeves to go over the hose to finish the deal. Its a nice setup

Re: Radiator Hoses

If you want to use all braided stainless hoses for everything else, I have used Earl`s and Summit brand hose and -an fittings and they all worked out well and it is easy to do.

Re: Radiator Hoses

Yeah, I saw there lots of choices also the ones that I can make/ bend myself..
but what I wanted to ask i what sizes and lenghts with what fittings do I need..?
For now I have V6 in my car, theres noone around with V8 that I can compare (I live in Poland)...
What size and lenghts will be those two hoses that goes from engine to radiator.. Also what are those that goes to heating... (I dont have AC in my V6 and I am also deleting it from my V8 if that matters/ differs)

The rest will be easy part becouse I have normal, stock ones so i can just measure them and measure the fittings and buy the same sizes in stainless

Re: Radiator Hoses

Poland? Your best bet may be to get a hose kit from Summit on-line catalog part # GTR-5002* *fits air or HD cooling only. Well Morit, this is all I have come up with. It is the only "hose kit" that looks to have all the hoses you need except they are not stainless. If you don`t have a catalog from Jegs and Summit, you may want to order one of each online and look through them. Also, order one from Classic Industries/Camaro. They have some stainless hose kits but you need to know the length. Click on "search" at the top of this page and type in "coolant hose sizes" and see what you come up with. I`ll do the same, it can`t be this difficult to figure out what size hoses you need. I know the heater hoses are 1/2" & 5/8" but I don`t know the length of each.

Re: Radiator Hoses

The max you'll need for the upper rad is 22". So you have to buy the 24" length and then you just cut it down to size. Cut's with a hack saw with ease.

Don't waste your money on buying one for the lower. Just use a reg black hose. You can barely see it for one, and I wouldn't trust the way it clamps together for a lower hose. Upper doesn't have the weight on it like the lower does.

Also watch where you reach when the hose is hot. Otherwise you'll get a nice burn design on your skin.

By the way I have no problems with buying parts for my car at Summit or any other shops..
Thx for your help I'll put some pictures after Ill swap it (probably wnter or so)
