Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
The drum brakes killed it for me.
That, and the fact it looks like a 300C/Magnum/Camaro hybrid.
I do appreciate the work though. That took some serious hours. It's probably 110% DIY.
Oh, and about gas, shut up.

At least some non faded paint on the drums would help. Looks like it was not high temp paint and started to burn off
Talk to the people in parts of California paying $7.25.

Hey, I don't complain about $3.50 a gallon. I know my canadian friends are paying more than that, and screw visiting the People's Republic of California. :P
On a side note, California makes more than 10% of America's GDP. They make more annually than the United Kingdom. Grats Cali. Grats.

I would hate to get hit from the rear in that car. Probably the pictures of the two on the rear hatch glass will keep anybody from getting close though .

KIND OF RESEMBLES A VIPER IN THAT LAST PICTURE. THE CURVATURE OF THE BACK HALF OF THE CAR.
----------
AS FAR AS THE GAS PRICES THE EUROPEANS HAVE ALWAYS PAYED MOR FOR FUEL WHILE WE HAVE PAYED LESS. THE ARE USED TO 3 AND 4 DOLLARS A GALLON I GUARNTEE THAT THEY ARE BITCHING JUST AS BAD AS WE ARE BUT THE PRICES OVER THERE REFLECT WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN PAYING IN THE PAST.

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
went to the website and it listed the cars stats, looks like at the moment its still pretty stock under the exterior. Still, pretty good looking mods. They list some of the different parts they used--BMW wheels, caprice handles, supra vents in the rear, etc.

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
We are now paying $2.10-$2.20 per litre in the UK! That is, easily over $8.50 per US gallon.
The drum brakes don't cut the mustard for me, but it's good to see other thrdgens from various parts of the world and what they are like.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but the picture I get of the middle east is a war zone, and never to go there, These pic's are very cool to look at and see that you guys are into it like we here in the state, It would be so nice if every body would just get along and stop the killing, I seen this place called Dubi or something like that and it look like a very cool place, not sure where that is, But I hope you could post up more pic's, I enjoyed looking at them. As for that camaro, I kind of like it.

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
So THAT'S what $3.75 a gallon buys us! The only reason you are paying $0.65 a gallon is because WE ARE SUBSIDIZING YOU!
Maybe we should invade a Middle Eastern country and get cheap oil... oh wait, we did that and the price went UP! How does that work??
Who designed it by the way- Chip al-Foose?

Awesome pictures! Thank you for sharing. I think some people see the area and forget you are living in a (at least to my understanding) modern progressive country for the most part. It is very good to see someone willing to spend the time to debunk the stereotypes and really bring a human element to it.

No need for bs like that man, just because the dude lives in a different country doesn't mean he's a bad person nor does it mean he has nothing in common with you. Haha actually you guys would probably hang out had he been from here or you been from there. All that really matters actually is that he likes 3rd gens, nuff for me to like him lol.

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
Pretty neat car. I don't love it but I do like it. Very original.
The headlight mod looks really good, as well as the door handles.
Is it really $0.65/ gallon or is it $0.65/ liter? cause that makes a big difference.
On a side note about gas prices; here in Alberta, we supply the US with a huge amount of oil which is pipelined to the US, made into gasoline, then shipped back here where we pay more than you for the gas that came from here.
Figure that out?

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
1/4 mile
I would say they are fairly priced
for example:
third gen never go above $4K
fourth gen lt1 never go above $5,5k
LS1 F-body between $5k-15k
corvette C4 between 3k-8k
corvette C5 between 13k-32k
corvette C6 I don't know about them
Z06s are rare and pricy I found 2003 for sale the owner asked $38k for it and willing to negotiate

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
hello guys!! i am from malta in europe and i think that you really dont know anything abiut living in here!!
here fule or as you call it gas is $9 per gallon and i am not kidding
and to buy a nice camaro you have to pay near $35,000
and i am telling you the truth!!!!!!!
and tell you why
if i buy a 3rd gen for $100 i have to ship to here and will pay about $3000
plus that as soon the car enters malta i have to pay duty and vat charge for car and shipping that makes about $10000 and after the big one is the first registration for the veihcle to be driven on maltes roads and if its not pre '75 you have to pay the maximum and also if its over 3ltr engine, minimum $30000
those all figures make a total of about $43000
i am for sure a big fan of a third gen because i paid a lot of $$$ to own 1!!!
i am thinkung of swap my rims for 18's and i checked for duty expenses , its about $1185 in taxes plus freight from usa to malta plus rims and tires!!

Definately an A+ for originality and I think it has an overall good look except the interior. But I have to agree with 86niterider I like how Gm did them from the factory. When I finish mine sometime in the next 30 years The body will definately look stock down to the original graphics. The only thing I might add is a slightly taller rear spoiler and that would be it. But I have to give credit where credit is do. I wish I could buy gas for under a dollar. It's hard owning a V8 when gas is this high.

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
wow I just looked at the last page. I have to honestly say I have had a bad opinion on the middle east in general after 9/11. I think I might have to re think that now. It is just awesome that you guys dig cars like we do here in the states. I might have to rethink also where I want to go for my honey moon when I finally get married. Too bad it would cost a boat load to bring my car along though. Absolutely awesome and Keep the third gen and muscle car craze going over there. I have to agree that this thread has definately given a human elimant to the middle east that most of us in america don't see in the press about the middle east. Thanks a bunch. I also have to agree that it takes less to make a third gen run as fast as a fourth gen than it takes to make a fourth gen look as good as a third gen.

so in theory... we bring over onda's and tota's and mod and rice them... would they consider this ricing over there?
Great effort... kinda looks like they lost interest on the interior in the back.
So much money on the outside... why not throw a few more bucks for the inside.
Anyone else getting vibes of the '09... err '10, well whenever it'll show up

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
Proxemics nice car. I see it's a work in progress. I would probably match the amps so they're not different and bigger brakes would definitely make the car much more serious.. I have a good friend from Saudi Arabia and I have studied the middle east and Arab League of States in depth. It's funny that people many times in the States forget that countries like SA, UAE, and Kuwait invest in the American Economy and have some of the best infrastructure in the entire world.
As for Gas I'd say OPEC has less to do with it than our very own congress and executive branch. Most of our oil comes from South America. For example Brazil is an oil rich nation. The middle east had a very good control of oil in the 1970's when places like South America, Russia, and Africa were not developed or available to our markets.
Brazil has most of their new cars running solely on ethanol. We on the other hand still use petroleum despite the massive amount of farm land and technology we have. If you want oil prices to drop in America write your congressman and president and remind them bp and exxon don't have as many votes as the American people, and you would like to see alternative fuels being used.

I hate almost everything about it. The lines of what they've done just do not flow with the original lines still on the car. To me the softer lines of the nose just don't work. The door handles are out of place and the fender vent is just hideous. The interior is probably the most horrible tragedy though.

Re: found this today (really unusual third gen)
Couldnt resist chopping it up...
Pieces of it is beautiful, but to me personally. Theres to many things that make me not like it, I dont mind when people try to turn a camaro more "euro", But this looks like a euro car that's already had a distasteful bodykit and things added.
If he would of went for a STOCK euro look, it would of been beautiful. But I'm sure his taste was different, nothing wrong with that.
Things i like
-Top of the rear bumper and the spoiler
-The "ground effects" style he chose
-The shape of the front
Thing i dislike
-The design of the openings in the front (they're too rounded)
-The bottom half of the rear bumper
-The taillights look to "squished" in there for my taste
-The fender vent
I probably shouldn't even pass judgement on it, this car looks like it has countless hours/days/months/years spent on it
